So, nervous person that I am, and having experienced dress-timing disasters in the past, I told the store my wedding is 3/26 instead of 5/28. Now, I'm gonna have my dress in my posession over 2 months early. Do I go back to the store and tell them I changed the date or something? or, do I just get my dad to nail in a hook in my old bedroom to hang the dress from the ceiling for the 2 months?

I've had my dress since November because the store I ordered from couldn't hold on to it, it's not that big a deal. But you can just tell them that you pushed the date back til May and they'll probably be able to hang on to it for you.

You should just tell them that you changed the date this way your dress is freshly pressed when you pick it up. If it hangs for two months, it could get wrinkled.

My sister had her dress early, she hung the dress up, and brought it to get fitted a few weeks before the wedding. Are you going to hold off on the alterations? If you do you can get it fitted and pressed right before the wedding.

Well, that's the thing. The store is doing the alterations, so I'm thinking if I tell them I changed the date, I can have the final fitting and pressing the week before the wedding.

Re: I'm gonna have my dress too early
Hey everyone- Just to fill you all in, I went for my second fitting today and changed the date they have on file. It got a little complicated as I also changed my last fitting appt from March to May and they were 'all booked,' but I did get in. Now I'm gonna pick up the dress 2 days before and bring it right to the hotel. (We're picking up one of our guests that same night and she's staying at the hotel, so we're gonna keep it in her room until we get our room the following day.) Thanks for all your advice!
