I'm having a dress breakdown (My first offical vent!)

After my FH and I finished meeting with nick from rambling rose, we watched the sample DVD that he left us of someone else's wedding....the bride was GORGEOUS! everything was just beautiful....well my wonderful FH decides to casually mention that 'her dress is too puffy!' Mind you, my dress is even 'puffier' than hers! He's saying how she would look better if her dress wasn't as puffy! He even mentions that he likes the bridesmaids dress (as a wedding dress!!) Mind you, before when I was thinking about getting a mermaid dress, he was like, I want you to look like a 'princess' on your day, you could wear a dress like that at any time Then I decided to show him some dresses from different websites, I show him two dresses of identical size, and he says the first one is too puffy but the second one is okay!! what the he1l!!! I'm just so confused and pissed off right now! I don't want to spend thousands of dollars on a frickin dress just for him to tell me on the wedding day 'it's too puffy!' I'm like, this other girl looked absolutely gorgeous, and he had to find something negative to say...i'm just so upset i''m even contemplating changing my dress...I need some love and advice girls

Don't worry Gina...on your day, he'll be so amazed at how gorgeous you look. It's always different when it's you. My FH always said he hated 1/2 up hair whenever I pointed it out on other girls...but when I put it 1/2 up for my e-pics, he couldn't stop saying how beautiful I looked.

There's a good chance he was trying to find something negative to say just so that he could find a fault and not make you feel weird....ya know - never say anything 100% nice about someone else if your FW is there...that type of thing...always find fault in anyone other than the one you love type thing??

If you feel great in your dress get it no matter what he thinks. When he sees you in that dress glowing he probably wont even realize what he said. Maybe she didnt look good in that dress and that is what he was commenting on, Not you. YOu will be radiant on your wedding day dont sweat it.

oh he will LOVE you in u'r dress.. dont even stress it.. he may think it's puffy that night when he's trying to get 'ahem' closer to u.. but other than that he will LOVE IT!! of course there issomething wrong with the bride in the sample video.. she's not YOU!! no connection to her whatsoever!!

it may have looked puffy to him .. but on you .. it may not... she had a different dress and she is a different person...

get what YOU LOVE and what looks good on YOU.

I love FH and I love that he has opinions but he jsut doesnt get it about girls and their bodies. What he thinks will look good on you is his impression of what the world dictates and what he sees other people wearing. you ahve to get whats going to look good on you.. and when it comes to YOUR day.. hes going to think you look beautiful no matter what!

on the day of when he sees how beautiful you look he wont even remember what he said or even care how puffy your dress is.

don't worry about it at all! your FH is going to be too busy looking at his gorgeous new wife to care at all about the poofiness of your dress.
he's going to take one look at you and all he's going to see is GORGEOUS you. i mean, sure he'll see the dress, but he'll see it as part of you and not as a seperate thing.

the girl in the video means nothing to him. she might have gorgeous, the dress might have been gorgeous, but to him, on her, it was meh.

it doesnt mean he'll feel that way when he sees it on you.

I'm sure that you picked a dress that makes you SHINE! It might not have been a dress that really flatters 'her'..but as long as yours flatters you and i'm sure it does...he'll be blown away when he see's you in it! Don't worry girlie!

hes not going worry that your dress is too puffy because when he first sees you hes going to see this beautiful person who is going to be his wife! dont fret over the dress too much!

You need to wear what you like best and feel most comfortable in! Stop showing him pictures, you are torturing yourself! You will look amazing and that is all he will remember.

seriously gina when he sees you he'll think you are the most beautiful sight he's ever seen. maybe that girls dress was too poofy on that girl...but he when he sees your dress on YOU he'll melt. i'm sure of it. don't go second guessing your dress.

This is what I was most worried about when I was looking for my dress....whether or not my FH would like it or not. He's extremely picky and very opinionated and I pretty much knew what he liked, and what he didnt like, but i was still so worried about it.
I mean, I wasnt thinking that he was gonna think I looked ugly....I just really wanted for him to LOVE everything about what I looked like on that day!
So I do know how you feel and this is how I came to terms with all this worrying. As long as you love the dress youre in, thats gonna shine through and you'll look more beautiful than ever in your life, and your FH will see that no matter what youre wearing.
