I'm having a little dilemma

I'm having a little dilemma

So I'm having my renewal in mexico and I found this photographer whose work I love and I wanted to book her.
Well I found out from someone that had booked her a year in advance, that she just decided to cancel on her becuase she supposedly wanted to extend her vacation in Europe.
This is the first time I hear any negative about this particular photographer. I don't know what to do, this makes me very uncomfortable.
What would you do?

Hey Tania, I voted for book her...but only do so after you speak to her. I have found that people's perceptions and comments regarding vendors are one sided and not always truthful. It does happen that some brides take things completely out of context and blow thigns out of proportion, so before making any decisions (and especially because you love her work) I would speak to the photographer. If you still feel iffy after the talk, then look for someone else. But don
to take someon's opinion as fact. Good luck, I know you'll make the right decision!

Did she schedule a backup photographer for your friend? I would definitely ask the photographer about this circumstance and find out what are her plans if she gets sick, etc. She may not plan another vacation but some unforseeable event may take place before your wedding.

Get a contract and make sure that in the contract if she does not show up that someone representing her work and up to her calibur will replace in case.

I'd even take it to the point of getting it notorized.

Thanks Sasha, I thing I might do that.
This is the first time that I hear anything like this happening with her. I really love her work and honestly there are not the many other photographers imo that compare to her.
Thanks again.

That's the thing, I don't know anything else. she is someone from another board and tI have try contacting her but she hasn't responded to me.
This whole situation sounds so unlike this photographer. She has a great reputation.
