I'm having a really hard time

Original post by Soon_to_be_Stanek

trying to find a RH.

Here's my issues...

I'm having a small wedding of about 100 pple...I want a place that only does one wedding at a time, & I want to have the ceremony there as well.

Annnnnd I need a place that has a nice bridal suite b/c I want to get ready there and have pictures taken there while I do...

here's the major issue.

Most of the places I've looked at had the bridal suite on the second floor and there were a ton of steps to get to it. (no elevators) * The Metropolitan, George Washington Manor, Strathmore Vanderbuilt, Stewart Manor CC.

That's a problem for me since I had a major car accident 6 years ago and 47 surgeries later -its super hard for me to walk up stairs. I usually use a cane but I refuse to use one on my wedding day. (I know-its ridiculous, but I'm stubborn) So I need to find a place that can match all that criteria, that affordable too, of course.

Would anyone know of any places that might work out for me?

edited b/c I cant spell

we got married at the Old Field Club and it meets everything you said- perfect for smaller weddings, ceremony on site (on deck or grass- its on the water), one wedding at at time, bridal suite, and on top of that i have major problems w/ stairs too and it was perfect for me there. All one floor, ramp entrance and everything.

Check out my review for more info!

WOW, the place is gorgeous!

My sister got married at DeSeversky center, and she had about 100 people, but the bridal suite was upstairs...you should call them though, they may be able to work something out.

Hi :)

The INN at New Hyde Park has an AMAZING bridal suite and a Bed and Breakfast house on the property as well. I've heard of people using either to get dressed in. I've never been in the B&B house so I don't know if it has stairs but I've seen pictures and its really nice and homie.

The bridal suite at the inn is so beautiful. I think its my favorite part. There are stair to go up but not many. its just one flight.

I think there charging about $160pp now

GOOD LUCK!

Ariana Waterfall is accomodates small weddings, is one wedding at a time, and the bridal suite is decent sized. To get the the RH you need to walk upstairs but I know they have an elevator.

Have you looked into East Wind? They have a few different locations. I think the Garden room would be perfect for a smaller wedding. And the bridal sweet is on the first floor.

try leonards of great neck, you can do the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all on the same floor, and they have an elevetor anyway if you need to go up or down stairs......they have a room that has i believe an 80 minimum, 150 max...and there prices are reasonable

sorry i didnt see you wanted 1 wedding at a time before i suggested Leonards...maybe you can try the foutainhead or floral terrace, dont know how much their minimums are, but they are 1 at a time

I mean I guess I wouldn't mind more than one wedding at a time if I wasn't running into the other bride and we were totally on a different floor. thanks for the suggestions!

I FMed you two places and because I also needed to look into the 'NO STAIRS. EVER' rule. I ended up going with Fox Hollow (which has stairs) because I'm stubborn and I just fell in love with the place... and couldn't say no.

What about the Woodlands (in Woodbury)? They do one wedding at a time, the bridal suite is on the first floor and you can have your ceremony there. I have been to Deserversky's several times. The bridal suite is on the second floor and since it is an old mansion I'm not sure if they have an elevator.

ahhhh, thanks for telling me that! Last Sunday I basically wasted 5 hours of my life going to a million places and I would see stairs and want to walk right out. But my FH is so friggin polite we had to sit there for an hour while the BM explained every...little....thing.

I will look into Woodlands, do you happen to know their min? we only have 100 pple.

Re: I'm having a really hard time

I would definitely recommend the Woodlands. It is beautiful and I think if you work with them, you may be able to find a date that they'd allow a 100 min. They knocked our Friday nite wedding in June to 120. We are paying $120pp (or $150 pp including taxes and gratuity) - the bridal suite is AWESOME and on the first floor. It's beautiful, has great food and only one wedding at a time. FM me if you have any other questions. Laura

Re: I'm having a really hard time

I loved my wedding a the thatched cottage. I never even looked at the groom suite, so I have no idea what its like. I can tell you that I had a 125 minimum for a Sunday evening, but maybe you can negotiate with them. They started at 140 and I got them down to 125.
We also were considering the Riviera -- If I remember correctly, they too have the bridal suite upstairs, but there is a smaller grooms suite downstairs. I think they might be more flexible about the minimum, and they are less expensive than TC. Both are absolutely beautiful. Good luck!

just curious, why can't you do stairs either?

Re: I'm having a really hard time

My place has elevators because its a hotel...and its on the beach. And we're only having 120.

Dunno where the bridal suite is, because its not complete yet but...the elevators should solve your problem.

Good luck!
