Liz - We have the EXACT same honeymoon! LOL We booked with Liberty last January, and other than our 2 day stop in San Francisco, our itineries are indentical. I absolutely cannot wait to go!! The pictures are just breathtaking.

This is how I chose my islands. I read some books, and the choices to me, one was definitley Maui, because there is so much to do. It is suppossed to be a very active island as far as activities go and water sports. . . however, still have the Hawaiian feel, and romance, without being TOO commercial. It can get crowded, but but not to the point where it's unbearable.
Kauai was a no-brainer for me b/c it is the more naturally beautiful island, where it will have ultra-romance posibilites. More private resorts, and more relaxation. It's suppossed to be absolutely beautiful - just pure eye-candy. That is where I'm spending my last 4 nights of romance and relaxation.
As you know the TA is liberty travel. I'm sending you a Forum Mail.

Tammy, whatever islands in Hawaii you chose, you will have a GREAT time. Hawaii is like a paradise honeymoon.
All the islands offer something slightly different, it's up to you to see what suits you and your FH more.
I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the islands.
It was hard deciding which islands to go to, and even harder deciding on a hotel. I read and read and surfed the web forever before deciding. Then I had some help along the way too . . .![]()

Liz - same reasons I chose the islands too! First we had booked 2 nights in Oahu, but it sounded very commerical and I knew I wanted to just relax for the first few days. People rave about Oahu but I think we were looking for something different.
Also, since we're stopping off in San Fran first, 4 stops would have been way too much.
We booked with Kristine from Liberty in Levittown. She was referred to me by a friend who used her last year for their HM.
We're using FH's FF miles, and we were tempted to upgrade to first class since I'm tall (5'10') but it was just so much more money, or miles, that it wasn't worth it. We're hoping to get upgraded maybe on the flight to CA....we're assuming just about every couple going from CA to HI will be newlyweds so we're not expecting any upgrades there!

Thanks for all the info. I will definitely call Suzanne. I just need to squeeze in some reading time so I know exactly where to go. I thought I had made so much progress in deciding Hawaii but as always with wedding planning, one decision just opens up so many more.

May I ask you what rooms you booked at the Hyatt?
We were priced for a Mountain View room at both, the only thing I'm concerned about is the space factor. How big are these rooms?
Will they be OK for my 6'4' FH?
Or should we consider spending more money for some kind of suite?
What are your thoughts on this?
Teri, it's funny, we feel the same way re: our choice of Islands, I wanted activites, but still really wanted to feel as Hawaiian as possible. My best friend went to Oahu, Honolulu, and Kauai and loved it !!!!!
It's all different strokes for different folks, and what we're looking for. She said she wouldn't change a thing, but if she ever goes again, she will venture into Maui b/c she's heard great things !!!!!!
She said she absolutely loved Kauai the best, b/c she couldn't believe how breathtaking it was.

I know what you mean !!!! When FH said he wanted to go to Hawaii for sure, I was like YAY!!!!! However, that was over a month ago, and I'm still in limbo, it does look like it's finally coming around though.

We booked the mountain view room in Kauai - I first wanted to upgrade at least to the garden view, but my TA told me that most HMers get upgraded anyway, and she also added that with ocean view rooms, sometimes the water is miles and miles away, since the hotel is on so many acres of property.
With all of that, we figured it wasn't worth the extra money - if we get bumped up, great, if not, it's not the end of the world. I have no idea on the differences of the interior rooms though - that would be something to find out. I assumed the only difference was the views.
All this talk is getting me even more excited! I'm gonna go check out their spa treatments and see which ones I want!

No, I was about to book it on Sept 15th, but now I'm not anymore, b/c Michelle told me about this Hyatt Hopper deal, so I'm staying at the Hyatt in both islands instead. I'm kind of pissed my TA didn't offer this to me as on option, so I'll probably just book w/Michelle's TA instead. . .
She was great over the phone, and she's here in LI. I plan to book by Sept. 15th.

I think there is one more of us 5/31 brides out there.
Anyway, we are leaving on June 2nd. Staying in Kuaii for 4 nights and then Maui for 6. So I guess we'll be in Mauii together for a day or so. How exciting!

they were 2 one of the most beautiful and romantic hotels I have ever stayed in!
