I'm new here and I booked a trial with Calista Brides, am I a fake?

My wedding is in July and I usually go on the knot, until I heard about this website from another knottie. I read some of the replies from girls that claimed LI newbie, Clarissa was 'fake'. I think it's ridiculous. Who the hell cares what anyones first post is about? I don't even know any of you and I'm here trying to figure out why such energy would be wasted. Trust me we get crap on the knot too, loads of it. Especially from vendors that are so obvious and they usually don't have a bio or anything, and they are real quick to respond to hair and makeup advice posts. Like there is this chick, jrsbabe and she's always pushing this unknown makeup person, well in jrsbabe bio it said that she is a freelance hairstylist and makeup artist, I thought that was funky and called her on it, then she changed her bio!! Then there's this other fake 'bride' and she's always pushing Bessie, it's so obvious she's this Bessie person! Anyway, I just think it's all nuts, besides there are quite a few girls using Calista Brides and they all seem happy with her which is why I booked a trial with her too. We will see how it goes though. P.S. is anyone having their manicure & pedicures the same day or day before? I'm not sure what to do.

I am glad you calmed down a bit at the end of your post. I thought you were here to tell us off .
I am doing nails & feet the day before. The day of I'll be so nervous I'll wanna bite my nails & I never do this now, but I would then!

Welcome to the boards!

I'm definitely going day before - want to give them plenty of time to dry. My big fear is going the day of and smudging them trying to get into my car. Hopefully the day before I'll have plenty of time to let them dry

Good Luck with your planning!

My best friend got her nails done 3 days before her wedding and ended up going the night before to get them fixed.... so its probably a good idea to go the day before. who has time to sit still the day of?

My ceremony is at 5pm and my reception is at 7pm, so I'll have time. Plus my girlfriend does nails and she said she'd come to me the morning of. The only reason I would do that is because I'm an artist and I constantly get my nails and hands messed up, and I'm working the day before on a project that has a deadline so I know I'll mess my nails up. I don't know ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!

um yeah jenn, I did see that and a lot others too. I doubt once you're married you'll have time to post that much though. At least I think you won't. LOL, is that really for real? how long have you been posting on these boards?

This board doesn't put up with the s#@T that goes on with the OTHER WEBSITES, thats why you will find about 98.9% of the posts very pleasant and helpful :)

Re: I'm new here and I booked a trial with Calista Brides, am I a fake?

I started looking and posting on this board becasue I noticed the constant cat fighting on the Knot. We're on these boards to share ideas, thoughts, opinions and pictures etc..
When we share things they are of our own opinion. I think everything can bit a hit or miss. I had a bad experience at Floweramas Bridal Plaza when I went to get my gown, when I was a BM in my friends wediing I had a great experience there. If a limo driver is late or gets lost, a bride may get upset and not reccommend that company, but on the on the other hand the same company can have a driver who's a 1/2 hour early and very attentive. It's all a matter of experience and opinion. Once we see someone constantly post about their vendor right away a flag goes up 'oohh they must work for that vendor' 'They must know them' who cares no?? Don't we all go with our gut feeling when we book our vendors. If we have vendor questions on this board we can post a question to any of them.
