Im really bummed...

When I went dress shopping with my mom to show her the dress I fell in love with, I also tried on a few others. There was one other that was a contender, but it just had lace and pearls on it and I really wanted something with a little 'glitz.' She told me she like my dress and I ordered it.

2 weeks later we were talking about the dress and she then tells me the other one was more flattering!! HELLO - I may have still gotten the dress I got, but she could of at least told me that when we were there - maybe I wouldn't have ordered it on the spot.

Moms are so frustrating sometimes!!

Don't let her get yoy down. You're the one that has to wear the dress, not her!

I'm so sorry that your mom has to be like that. I definitely know how frustrating Mom's can be. Everytime I go to my mom with a new idea, she's always like, well, what about this instead.

If you love your dress, get it, as heartbreaking as it may seem. It is your day and you and you FH are the only ones who need to be happy.

My Mom told me my dress wasn't 'bridal' looking. She would rather me be in a type of dress that I just cannot stand to have on. But I bought the one 'I' wanted and would be happy with.
I am sorry that she had to behave this way for you

I know what it is. She hates that Im fat. We go to the gym together 4-5 times a week. If I cant go, she gets mad at me. We go to one of those 30 minute workouts, but now we stay there for 45 minutes because I havent been losing as much weight as she wants me to. I told her this dress was THE ONE. If she knew this was my final choice, why tell me that she doesnt like it? I dont know, that's just the way she is. She's never been really supportive of anything that I do. I've gotten used to it, but this incident really hurt.

my mom did the same thing to me. i told her it was 'the one' and she told me she hated it.. just keep in mind that you two have different tastes and dont let her sway your opinion! its your wedding not hers!
