I'm Scared girls

Ok, so he did NOT have a heart attack. They believe that it is Angina pain and a possible small blockage. He's 64 and he still works - he does hard labor, moving boxes driving a truck, etc, and he runs/bikes 4-5 miles a day! The dr just thinks he's over-stressing his body. They're going to do a catheterization (sp) either today or tomorrow and then he'll come home. Thanks for the 's girls!

and why do they ration their meds? is it to be cost effective?

dont worry....if there is anything wrong they'll catch it and he is already at the hospital so there is no reason to get upset.....when i was 14 my dad was at a bar in brooklyn working (he was in a band played lead guitar) he wasnt feeling well that day and he started to have chest pains and other heart attack symptoms - his friends called an ambulance - he ended up having a heart attack - luckily they got him to the hospital in time and he survived - my dad was in his late 40's which is young and it was really scary he ended up having stents put in....now he is fine and doing well.....it was a really scary time so i know how scary it can be

i am worried about my own heart health b/c my grandfather, dad and his brother ALL had heart attacks/heart disease so its my genes

They hate going to the doctor! So if they get a 3 month supply of medication, but stretch it to 6 months, they figure they have to go less often! Insane!

i am sorry to hear I could only imagine how you feel not being there I am sure he is in good hands now and they will find out soon enough what is wrong

My Mom has had lots of heart problems over the years, from a heart attack to angina to stents to angioplasties (spelling?). . .anyhoo, if you need to talk, FM me! My mom has been through it all, so I might be able to help!

Heather I hope everything is okay with your dad!!! I am sure it will be...keep positive!! And keep us updated!!!!

aaah! Don't worry until you know if something is wrong. I am on BP medication and it very dangerous to not take it everyday! Tell him he needs to take care of himself!

OMG

first of all i was glad to read your update, i hope for continued good news.

and i have to tell you my parents are 67 and 60 and they went to the doctor for the first time in over TWENTY YEARS last year. . .bc i made a big deal about them going for my wedding!!! my mom hasnt been to the GYN since i was BORN!!!!!!!!

so i totally understand how frustrating it can be!!!

, i hope everything is ok, at least your mom got him in getting test, i'll keep in my prayers.

if your mom says that things are ok for now, you should be able to trust her, but go to the hospital after work to check out the scene for yourself!
