I'm so annoyed!

Actually - Ms. was created, not for a specific age group but for women who felt that their title shouldn't be specific to her marital status. The title Mr. is for both married and unmarried men and women felt that they should have the same option.

So you shouldn't worry about being termed as a Miss at 27 - because actually you are!

Ditto!!!

Oh No... That's not good.
I'm 34 and I have 'Miss' on the response card that are coming back to me.
I just told FH, he said 'who cares no one will notice.' I hope he's right.
I can't reprint them.
My stomach is sick..:

I'm 35 and I put Miss as well. I liked the way it looked rather than Ms. Its no big deal- I didn't know that rule and I doubt that others will even notice.

Ive said this before in other posts and I'll say it again. I am 35 years old and I am a MISS. I prefer MISS over MS regardless of what societal rules dictate.

I AGREE! It's a matter of choice...Miss or Ms. I prefer Miss and will be Miss until I'm married...then I'll gladly become a Mrs. For my divorced aunts I wrote Ms. since they would have killed me had I written Mrs.

Wow! thanks everyone for making me feel so much better about Miss! Now my question is do I keep it consistent and address all the other single and over 18 women as Miss too or do I use Ms just to not offend anyone who is sensitive to Miss.
Also, is someone still Mrs. if they are divorced or do they become Ms. or is it a matter of preference?
TIA!!!

Miss. is for if you are single and under 18...I'm 27!!
I assumed it was correct because that is actually what the woman at the store put down. I figured since I thought it and she wrote it, it had to be right!

I never knew this. I thought Miss was for never married and Ms. was for previously married, currently divorced. Well just from the responses on this thread, I think many people are unaware of he difference and will not notice. . .

Mine say Miss, too.

I think it's a matter of preference. I am divorced but kept my married (last) name, so most of the time I was still referred to as Mrs. DioGuardi, which was not a problem for me. When I filled out forms and return address labels, I would use Ms. DioGuardi.
