I'm so crazy--but need help-- Louis XVI

OMG!!! I'm so crazy! So I actuallu think I can actualy plan a Saturday wedding now (with less than 3 months away).

I can stil get out if my RH for May 31 with just the deposit lost, my photographer will give up the deposit, and my dj, officiant and florist can move to the Saturday with no price change.

So I called tons of place and I found a great price for Louis XVI, which is going to be taken over by Villa Lombardi's in April. It sounds so pretty and the website looks nice.

Does anyone have any experience there?

Am as crazy as I think I am for changing my wedding this late in the game?

I am thinking about Louis XVI for a wedding December this year. We are going to look this weekend. What made you switch to them? How does the food seem?

I have never seen it-- I'm a med student in Fl and can't come up to NY until around 2 weeks before my wedding.

So I need all y'alls help to see if it's nice

I am going this weekend, I will take and send you pictures.

I grew up near there, it is right on the water, very nice.

Is there a specific reason you want out of your current RH? My main concern for changing this late in the game would be the limited amount of time you have for making your new plans and getting your invitations out.

I have had dinner at Louis XVI, and Villa Lombardis, and food has been great at both places. If Lombardis is taking it over I can only imagine you'd get more for your money. Yes it is a beautiful place, very ornate if that is your preference.

I'm getting married there in August and have had a great experience so far. Andi has been super helpful, the place is gorgeous and the food is out of this world! FM me if you have any questions.

The specific reason I want out my RH is because I really want a Saturday wedding and my current wedding date is a Sunday and my current RH doesn't have any Saturday openings.

Have you seen your current RH in person and have you had a positive experience in dealing with them thus far? I say this with absolutely no negativity meant towards Louis XVI at all, but honestly if you're happy with your current RH and already have everything else booked and planned around it, I'd leave things as they are. I wouldn't want to book a place I couldn't physically see, no matter how highly recommended it was by anyone else, but that's just me. And I wouldn't want to have to worry about changing everything else around either. Plus I'd hate to lose out on any deposits. There is so much to do last minute before the wedding, I know I wouldn't have dealt well with that added stress. I think it is natural to beigin to second guess your original decisions as the date gets closer, whether you start to think you should have gone with a different color or a different dress, or in your case, a different day. Really think about whether or not changing everything will make you feel better about your plans, or just complicate them further. Good luck with your decision!

Would your new date be in May as well?

The place on the website looks very nice. Just noticedon their website their capcaity for dinner is 180.. just a thought.. not sure how many people you are expecting.

I sort of agree with the sentiment that that is alot of added stress to change the date... unless you are unhappy with your current RH I would say you mightg drive yourself nuts unecessarily.

I'd be uneasy about booking my wedding without seeing it first. Also, if I may ask... where are you in Florida?? I start med school this August and will be in Florida as well!!

Anyway... I've had dinner at Louis XVI a couple of times and the food was very, very good. They don't do a lot of weddings there so just make sure they are entirely on the ball. Furthermore, some of the place could use a little upkeep. For example, some of the chandeliers need a good cleaning and some paint is chipping. However, it is a beautiful place and it is right on the water. With a little TLC it could shine even brighter. Just make sure you would feel entirely comfortable not seeing the place before you book it. Where is your current RH?

I actually booked with Lombardi's once I found out that Louis XVI will become Lombardi's on the Bay in time for my wedding! I made the mistake of going there yesterday to look at the hall as Louis XVI and I am not sure, but it's definitely not my style the way they had it decorated. It looked very dated to me and very old. The scenery is beautiful but the hall hasn't been kept up with. It all depends on what you're looking for.

I actually went straight to Lombardi's afterwards to inquire about what was being re-done and they informed me that they won't have all of the renovations done until May sometime so just be careful when booking!

Hope this helps!
