I just arrived at the federal courthouse in brooklyn. I put my bag on the security belt.

Security: ma'am may I ask what you're here for today?

Me: I have a 1230 conference

Security: you're an attorney?

Me: yes

Security: well the reason I ask is because, well, you have a fork in your bag.

Seriously I am so dumb sometimes!!!!

He's like well, ill let you keep your phone since you're an attorney... And your fork.

If you have an attorney secure ID pass, you don't need to pass through any electronic detectors..(??).

Does the OCA card work for federal court buildings too? When I worked for the DA I was too lazy to get the OCA card but the court officers let us bypass security by showing our ID cards so I was okay.

hmmmmmmmmm.... FH's dad does security for a federal court house in brooklyn... he's a retired detective

Federal Courts do not accept attorney ID's, everyone has to get screened. But my card is my BFF at other courthouses, especially CI, that place is awful!
