IM SO F---G PISSED ABOUT MY MAKEUP TRIAL . ..

Wow sorry you are so upset but honestly I think you are blowing this out of proportion.

I mean its your wedding it should be a nice time. Maybe you wouldnt of even liked her. Maybe its for the best. I think that whats meant to be is.

Im learning more and more that this is a business these people are in they arent our friends they arent family its a business transaction. There is no need to take it so personally in my opinion.

YOu scheduled an appointment with her but you didnt sign a contract with her. Someone else wants to book her and she gave you a call. I think that is fair enough it isnt unethical what she did. How about if you would have made her wait til the last minute and then canceled the trial and never booked her? does she have a right to be upset with you just as you are with her? what about the money she would have lost by turning other brides away in the hopes that you would book her even though you live in Florida?

I dont know maybe you are all going to get angry at me and tell me off. But thats how Ive been looking at things lately. I guess Ive been over analyzing stuff and trying not to loose my head while I plan my wedding. I so dont want to be a Bridezilla(not saying anyone here is) I want to enjoy my planning and not regret later what I said or did to people close to me or who worked for me. I want to come back and read what I ve posted and not say 'who the heck was that?'

Im also talking from a lawyers point of view the vendor really did nothing wrong ethically or business wise. You can only legally complain or ruin reputations or give bad recommendations based on real reasons,situations, etc. I wouldnt want anyone to get into trouble here.

Im sure you will find someone better and tell us all about it.

Wow, of all the MANY FMs I've gotten totally supporting me on this, as well as the public responses on this thread, you sure are of a different opinion - hmmmm, and what do YOU do for a living? LOL
Ummm, my wedding is going to be a great event. Particularly becaues I will be marrying my best friend and the man I love. Oh, but also because I've taken care in choosing my vendors - LOLOLOL for the record, not only do other make up artists NOT act this way, as I know from personal experience and from my friends' many personal experiences, but in this particular case, she was even more particularly wrong since I planned this trial with her over a month ago, and since she knows I'm planning my entire wedding from Florida. She could have and should have told the other bride to wait another week so I could have my trial with her. I could've decided that day.

That was a pretty long 'rant' of yours, from someone who is 'disinterested' in the situation. And darling, I am far from a 'bridezilla.' In fact, I am simply a woman who would like respect from the people she works with, and gives the same back. I don't know you, so I won't say anything further or personally attack you (although I do have an opinion as to your career - lol).

In my opinion, she has shown she cares more about money than her reputation and service. Therefore, I'm happy I didn't book her. Imagine I had booked a person like that! LOL there are plenty of others out there with skill, talent, and ethics that I'd rather hire.

You know what I think, I think it's odd that you are so interested in this situation, especially since you are new to this site and have only 20 posts. hmmmm. You a makeup artist?

I think it is completely ridiculous that because they got someone now and is pressuring 12-3princess IS COMPLETELY WRONG. 12-3princess should be given the courtesy of having the trial..(not that she wants it now anyway). IT IS WRONG...for the vendor to jump ship on commitments she has made. If this other girl wants her sooooo bad, SHE can wait until the trial was over and THEN let 12-3 decide for herself! OBVIOUSLY 12-3princess had made the appointment first and should have the opportunity like anyone else to make her decision....If this other chick wants it sooo bad she can WAIT since she made the appointment 2nd!!!

I think that part about the Bridezilla has no bearing on this or on most of the rants and raves....So for you to even write it WAS silly and unfair.

People can rant and NOT be a Bridezilla and NOT look back and regret. Being upset with HORRIBLE treatment is NATURAL and that is what this site is for by the way...TO share experiences good and BAD! Doesn't mean anyone is going to look back and feel stupid about how or what they post!

i wanted to schedule a trial with an artist. she had a trial set up with someone on the same wedding day as me. she didn't want to do the trial with me in case the other girl booked. at least she was honest about it.

One very popular woman on this board had a trial booked for 4 or 5 months out for my wedding date and for that reason she would not give me a trial. I was NOT happy about that but at least she was keeping her commitment to this other bride.

This might be the type of thing this makeup artist was trying to avoid (losing business by booking trials too far out and then having the person not book) but you don't go about it by cancelling an appt 2 weeks before the trial and issuing an ultimatum for money without a trial!

You should out this shady vendor. FM me the name because I think I have a really good guess.

12-3 - I am with you on this. It is not acceptable. You do not deserve to be treated that way - your business should be just as important as the next person's and moreso in this case because you contacted the make-up artist first.

My makeup person has been amazing. I think that in total two other girls called her to book a trial but since I had called first - and we all shared the same wedding date - she came right out and told them that she had to see me first and would discuss makeup if I was not interested. She did not jump the gun but rather honored my appointment first...and I have fewer girls than one of them so clearly it was professional courtesy over greed.

I am very upset that the person you were working with did this...clearly it is not common practice and should not be tolerated. Post away girl...these are the things we need to help each other out with.
