My dress is pretty formal, and I have a 2-tiered fingertip length veil with some puffiness on the top.
I NEVER EVER EVER wear my hair up. When I was younger, my Dad told me that my face/head looked really big with my hair up, so I haven't worn it up since.
I either wear my hair all down, or like this:
Honestly, I feel like my dress calls for an updo. I plan on keeping my veil on all night.

a hair trial I had - I don't think this style is going to work. There is just too much hair around my face/shoulders to work with my dress. (THIS IS NOT MY VEIL - it was the hairdressers, for trial purposes only.)
Another style that I like, but I'm not sure of...
I'm really open to some honest opinions - you girls understand that every bride wants to be beautiful and comfortable, but elegant at the same time. If you have any pics of suggestions, PLEASE send them this way!!!

Just my opinion, but if you really never wear your hair up, I wouldn't do it for the wedding day. It sounds like you might be self conscious about it. I also agree though that the pick of your hair trial your curls are too tight. I think a looser half up, half down would look absolutely gorgeous on you.

i think the last style would look great!! it gives u hair on ur face, but not too much.

I have a few pics..1/2 up/down.
Some suggestions.
I also wasnt comfortable with wearing my hair all up (though I still didnt love my hair day of wedding) and left my veil in all nite.
Your eyes are so pretty and will stand out....no matter what style you do!
I think a low bun would look perfect. Just from experience, if you have hair in your face in your pictures, you are going to try to brush it out of the way. KWIM?

Mia did a great trial on me and I also hate my hair up.. I told her I wanted the back of my neck to be covered. I think this kind of hairstyle would also flatter you. Check out my Mia Trial pics in my album.

I really like this style for your dress. You should take Mjdoc12's suggestion of going for another trial, do 1 high updo and 1 lower. See how it goes, good luck!

since you always wear your hair down, I think you should definitely wear it UP for your wedding!!!!!!!!!!! This is one of the few times in your life (or only time) that you will actually have the opportunity for something as fancy as an UPDO.
I definitely say the UpDo. I know you're scarred by what your dad said many years ago.....but your face is different now, and by looking at it, I think an Updo would be GORGEOUS.

I have to disagree with most of the posters!
I also ALWAYS wear my hair down... I just don't like how I look when it's all up.
For my wedding, I'm doing a half-up style... I know an updo would look beautiful and elegant, especially with my dress, but JMO I'd hate to look back on my pictures and not feel like me.
Definitely get another trial and see how you feel though!

Nic what if you did the 3/4 up? I will search for a picture for you. basically its swept back from top to bottom but just a small part is kept hanging (down) in the back but most is pulled back....does that make sense?
