I agree with the previous post that said you really should not be posting this on a public forum. I would get an attorney ASAP and they will explain why the friend has to sue your FH. He was in his car and has to sue him bc he cannot sue the woman directly in order to be compensated for his injuries since he was only the passenger. I am sure there are more details to the story but since I am not a lawyer, this is how I understand it works. It s*cks but thats the way things work.

Nope not true.. he sued the lady already. He isn't getting as much as he thought he would from her insurance and he can't sue FH insurance because he was 0% at fault... so now he is moving on to personally suing him to get whatever he can from us PERSONALLY! This is not your typical case!
We have a lawyer too ... but he was working with us when it was the insurance and he is a different kind of lawyer.

HE DOES NOT HAVE TO SUE FH PERSONALLY! THAT IS A PERSONAL DECISION!!!!!

I am so sorry to hear this. Is it even legal for them to sue since your FH was found to have zero fault. Some people are unbeliable! I can not believe that ahole of a friend would sue him. Get him out of your lives asap. I hope he is no longer in your bridal party.

OMG what a piece of crap this guy is! I am so sorry you guys are going through this! Don't have ANY contact with this POS. He is more than likely not going to win because of his issues with drinking AND the fact that you have videos- make sure you save them. Get a lawyer and show them.

First I just want to say, take a deep breath and
I was being sued (through my insurance) last year and I know how nerve-racking it can be.
Although the suit was for my insurance company I kept getting letter from them that if the person suing wanted more money then my coverage, that they could come after me personally. And that I should maybe think about getting a lawyer, yet everytime I called them they told me there was no need to get a lawyer.
Luckily my school offers free legal advise once a week, so I went for a consult. It really eased my mind, so I would suggest if you don't already have a lawyer, to see if you can find someone that will do a free consult with your FH.
Unfortunately, when you are in someone else's car and they get into an accident, even if it isn't their fault, I believe the person has to sue you, and then your insurance goes and sues the other insurance company. I think it is crap that your FH's insurance company isn't helping, that's what he has the coverage for-they should be providing a lawyer and fighting this.
If you want any info or just to vent please FM me. But I agree, I wouldn't go posting this online. I was told at my consult that I should make sure I have all info about me, my car and the accident taken down because law firms DO search for this stuff online.

Sending you and FH lots of love. Screw these people, I give you TONS of credit for not beating this b*stard down already. Hold it together sweetie....you and FH will have a beautiful wedding- no one will stop that. Good will prevail. You guys work hard to have the life and share the love you have.

I'm sorry you have to deal with this. If it helps, in all probability, the lawsuits against FH will be dismissed. If the insurance investigators found the other driver to be 100% at fault, they don't have any grounds to sue. Unfortunately there are a lot of shady personal injury attorneys out there who just go looking for 'deep pockets.'

What a b@st@ard this so-called friend is. I can *almost* understand suing through the insurance company (any personal injury attorney will tell you to do this, as well as a lot of doctors and hospitals) , but to go after FH personally is just disgusting - especially when he knows FH is not at fault.

1. The douchebag friend knew damn well the lawyer was going to go after you guys personally, he is lying! No lawyer would do that without his permission.
2. You guys need to get a good lawyer ASAP!
