Im filling out my thank you cards and having such a problem because I threw away the paper with the gifts on it. Majority of people gave us money and I kind of remember most of the ones who did, but some gave use gifts like frames, etc, and I cant remember who they were. So it wouldnt make sense to say 'thank you for the generous gift' if they gave me a frame. What should I do???? UGH!!

Thats true. I guess thoughtful could go for money or gift. Im still trying to tackle the people who Im not sure whether they gave us anything....

I swear to God I had one co-worker tell me at the cocktail hour he remembered the card 'but not the gift' and would give it to me at work..................
I get back to work last week, only to have him re-tell his story to another co-worker (IN FRONT OF ME) about how , AND i QUOTE 'my wife said you can't go to a wedding without a gift, thats embarrassing.....and i told my wife...'naaaaah Donna Understands....its not like shes hard up for money'![]()

Wow! Is he serious??!!! If he doesnt give you one by the time the thank you'/s come around, you should write 'thanks for sharing our special day and I would thank you for the gift but I nevre got it! Good thing Im not hard up for money!!' okay that might be too rude b ut dont you wish you could write that![]()
dont worry about that Lea, even if you write 'generous gift' they wont figure out you dont remember what they gave you. Most thank you cards say 'generous gift' thats what everybody writes so its not a big deal. Or thoughtful like someone suggested sounds fine
i always write 'thoughtful gift'

Oooooooh oh and I gotta add. I just remembered this........so Im sharing this story to my friend at work about what happened and hes like if you think THATS bad....... at his wedding 3 years ago.....a woman who he knew FROM CHURCH. gave him a card with a check inside it that said nothing but ' I.O.U. '
HES STILL WAITING.
i would say 'Thank you for your thoughtful gift and for sharing our day with us'
