Imagine Studios Brides - A Little Worried
I have seen posts recently concerning Imagine Studios and how you can only use them if you utilize photography and video. Does anyone know if this is a new policy? I met with Lia and signed a contract with her in early February of this year. It is fully understood (even listed on my contract) that we are only getting photos taken, no video. Anyone else have a contract with them prior to this policy change? (I guess I am just a little nervous b/c my wedding is only 5 months away)

I could be wrong, but I took other posts to mean that IF you are doing video, you have to use their videographer, you can't use another videographer of your choosing from somewhere else.

Imagine Studios Brides - Dont Worry
I happen to be using them for both photo and video for our Sept 01 wedding, but we booked Lia first and later decided to do a video and use Nelson. If you are uncomfortable give Lia a call. I'm sure its no problem.

I was told 2 weeks ago you can only use them if you book them for photos and video. It is a new thing they just started a little while ago. You should be fine. You may want to call just to reassure yourself. And you'll feel better. I was really interested in them, because I heard Lia takes excellent pictures, but after going to an actual videographer and seeing the difference in quality and talent that goes into the video, we decided not even to meet with them. We've seen videos done by a photography studio and they stink compared to an actual video studio. The weird thing is, it's the same price. You can't beat that. Good luck!

Melissa - a question
How can you judge the quality of a professional whose work you have not even bothered to see?

My statement was my experience with photographers videos in general. I spent quite some time seeing them and was not impressed, and after seeing many video companies, we were able to compare the work. I'm not saying their video was bad, I'm saying from what we saw we would rather spend the money with a videographer that specializes in video taping. If it costs the same money, why not? From what I heard from many videographers and photographers, majority of photography companies that offer video are doing it to make an extra buck. I'd rather have someone to tape my wedding that puts a little heart into it, and isn't doing it just to make a buck. And yes I heard that about this company. So, instead of wasting our time and their time we decided to go elsewhere. I don't know if you've even been to a video company to be able to compare the work, but there is a BIG difference in the way it's put together.

I guess last year when I was looking for a videographer I spoke with Nelson. I had already booked my photographer and was interested in video and Nelson told me that I should book his wife becaue he and her work better as a team and sometimes there are differences between a photographer and himself and he feels that's the only way it would work. When I told him I already had a photographer than he said well I guess I can make a exception for you since your wedding is a Friday night. At that point I was a little turned off and he made me nervous with all his talk about differences in personalities I decided not to book. Their work looks good but be cautious!

a different worry about Imagine....(LONG)
I booked both lia & nelson for my Aug. 31 wedding and when i called to schedule my engagement shoot in june like i had been told nelson said that they could probably 'squeeze' my picture in!!!! To say the least and because i have a horrible temper i was VERY TICKED off and decided to wait and call a few weeks later to schedule.. I think i bit my tongue so hard that day it bled! That truly concerns me about the 'team'. sometimes think i shouldn't written that check for $500.

Ok, now you are getting me a little worried. Maybe they are getting too busy! I know they were moving thier studio and home, maybe that is throwing them off. So far we have had nothing but Great experiences with them. We had our engatement pictures done and were more than happy with the results. My sister (MOH) has a trained eye for video and photo, she is a producer. She is impressed with both Lia and Nelsons work so I have no worries about the creativity or quality. It think I will forget about this until Sept.

a different worry about Imagine....(LONG)
Im am so glad I went with my gut feeling about Imagine. Several months ago, I had seen their names on this site I had called their office to make an appointment. I spoke with Nelson on my first phone call to set it up. I found him a bit curt but I figured maybe he was busy. So the day of my appointment I called to get directions and found out that my appointment had never been scheduled. (Im glad I called b/c their studio is a more than an hours drive). I tried to reschedule but again they lost my appointment. After that disorganization, I made up my mind that I would never hire them so it wasn't worth even meeting with them. Im sure those brides that have booked Imagine must have had a positive experience but being busy or moving offices is no reason to be discourtious. As an added note, if Imagaine's studios video was up to par with the competition, they wouldnt need to implement a policy that forces a bride to use them.Welcome New Vendors
