My best friend wanted me to post this as a warning to all of you. She got married August 15th and she got her dress from Iman. Iman was supposed to recreating a Pnina dress and made my friend feel like she would be making 100% of the dress heself. My friend was led to believe that she would be able to see the dress through the whole process. Well she lied because the dress was made in China. My friend did not get her dress until 3 weeks before the wedding and there were so many problems with it. In the beginning my friend brought Iman the beads she wanted on the dress and when the dress came in they were all wrong and blue in color. Iman didn't want to change the beads she said it was impossible. She put my friend through such stress. After a few days my friend went back and started pulling off beads and told Iman that the beads come off so she better fix it. Iman wound up doing what she had to do but with so many problems involved. My friend went for her last fitting THE DAY BEFORE HER WEDDING! On the day of the wedding some of the beading was falling off. All in all she put my friend through torture, there were so many days she would call me up crying about her dress. Iman dodged her phone calls almost every time she called. So she wanted me to tell all of you girls save yourself a nightmare and go somewhere else!

Re: Iman Bridal Coutoure
Iman is a store/seamstress? I thought it was a line.
Anyways, I am so sorry that happened. I see ads all the time for Chinese dressmakers and I just hear so many horror stories. I can't believe that happened to her!

Re: Iman Bridal Coutoure
Iman has a store in Old Brookville. No one noticed that her beading was falling off but she did. Her dress looked great at the end but if definitely wasn't worth the stress and aggravation. My friend went to the bathroom one time and the lining in the inside of the dress ripped and we had to pin it up. She spent $12,000 for her dress and expected quality. She said if she wanted a dress from China she would have ordered it direct.

OMG that is awful! She really should call Help Me Howard or something. That is fraud. 12,000 is a TON of money!

I feel bad for your friend. She should report her to the BBB
But I have to say that most lines are manufactured in China where there is cheap labor.
So, you can get almost the same dress from a designer but for a fraction of the cost. The difference is that the designer will inspect the dress before it is sent to you to ensure quality. The ones that don't pass are usually then sold as 'direct from the manufacturer'.
I wouldn't get a dress that didn't pass the designer's approval from some no-name Chinese shop. but I just wanted to share what I learned...

Re: Iman Bridal Coutoure
What a terrible story, but I'm sure all of us appreciate the heads up. I went there with my friend who was getting married about 2 years ago....thankfully she went somewhere else, as they were impossible to deal with just trying things on, definitely not a good place to go to AT ALL!!!!
