in laws opened all of our cards!!!

My MIL took the cards/envelopes out of our birdcage near the end of the night... she was afraid that someone was gonna take them.

So today, 2 days after the wedding, hubby asked his dad for them.... it turned out that they opened all of the cards/envelopes! Took all the cash/checks out... kept a log... and wrote on the cards themselves how much the person gave. Not on the envelope the card came in but on the inside, where ppl wrote messages for us!!!! I'm so upset! I wanted to keep the cards and read them in years to come... now each time I open them, there's this figure written in the middle on how much they gave and in what form they gave it in!!!!!

Either they were trying to help or they were just snooping. Either wasy it was not right.

I would be upset too.

OMG..That is sooo wrong on soo many levels!! They had no right..you only get married once..only get to do these things once. I would be FUMING!!!!

my MIL did the exact same thing. i think she thinks it's not a big deal. and however valid my reaction is to me and anyone she thinks it's really me who's over reacting. but i hope you MIL isn't as bad as mine cuz she actually thinks what she says is the law. now that's irritating.

OMG I can't believe they did that to you. We opened ours with our moms but that was our choice. I would be sooo mad if my inlaws or my parents opened by cards without me.
