How soon before the wedding is an appropriate time to have one? Our wedding is in 15 months.

It is entirely up to you! We actually had ours 15 months before the wedding. The only guideline I'd give is not to have it TOO close to the wedding date.

we did ours a year before. you don't want to do it too close so the year mark seems appropriate to me.

We got engaged in September, our e-party is March 23. I would do it like at least within 6 months. Like Lisa said, just not too close to wedding date!

We just got engaged this month and I'm thinking August for our engagement party because my brother will be out of the army and moving back home from the west coast. I really want him to be there.

I'd say anytime more than one year prior to your wedding. Otherwise, you'll hypothetically be having an eparty, bridal shower, bachelorette party, and wedding all in one year, which may be a lot for your guests financially.
