Inexpensive Furniture?

FH and I bought a house about 2 month ago...had it totally remodeled and now are in desperate need of furniture (read: we have none!). Anyone know of a decent place to get relatively inexpensive furniture?

what do you consider inexpensive?

IKEA has very resonable prices, but IMO the quality isn't great. we just bought a bdrm set from pier1, got a great price, and we are (so far) very satisified. solid construction, but not top notch.

edited due to spelling. why don't we have a spell check feature???

I don't know what type or style furniture you're looking for, but Ebay has a number of sellers (furniture importers) that have great pieces & deals.

And are you looking for temporary pieces of furniture?

We did really well @ SEAMANS Furniture in Farmingdale. Our salesman, John, was really nonpressure and very informative. We love the furniture and we kept going back and getting money off when it was on sale (they let you do that if you haven't had it delivered yet)

It may not be convenient for you, but we bought furniture at Bob's Discount Furniture and got great prices. We bought a dining room table with 8 chairs (can seat 12), a couch and loveseat, and a complete King sized bedroom set for under $5000. Our friend's mom is in real estate and a great decorator and she said we did awesome! They do have a website, just to give you some idea of their stuff and their prices. It's www.mybobs.com Not everything they sell is on the site, but at least you'll get an idea if it's worth a trip.

Value City Furniture has great prices. We bought our couch there and they have really cheap coffee tables..I don't know if they have them on LI though. We bought our couch in NJ.
