Well, I had to respond to the Z100 'Holiday Wedding' issue, as I happen to know some of those guys and was really shocked myself to hear them take the stance that they did on this topic.
I couldnt believe they would say those things, and I wanted to find out a little more info.
So I managed to speak to one of the producers today, and they told me, like a lot of you had thought, 'oh it was just a 'bit' for the show', and that they often take topics and each take a side to create more drama.
I was really surprised that Danielle took the angle that she she did, because she loves weddings and is always promoting them, and in fact has been out to LI to many Bridal Fairs and reception hall promotions. I heard that she was actually really upset at how it came across, and it is such a shame because I have met her a few times and she is such a sweet person, and would help any bride out with any info she has. I have emailed her myself with some wedding questions, and she always writes me back with any help she can give. I dont think she realized how it was coming across and I think she was just just thinking it was a joke topic and not realizing that it could really upset a lot of us who are getting married on or around Holiday Weekends.
Sometimes people do and say things they regret, and I think the Zoo realize that they may have gone a bit far on this one. But although I'm also disappointed in them, I think they know they made a mistake, and I'm sorry to see them getting trashed so much for it. I know they did the damage themselves, but they really are good hearted people, who do so much good and charitable stuff for people in this area, especially Danielle, and I dont know why they would have gone down this road and isolated some listeners by going with this topic.
It is sad, because they have a clean, fun morning show, and didnt have to go there on this subject - even if it was just to stir up some controversy.
Anyway, I'm sorry this is so long, and I know some of you will probably trash me too here, but it's just my opinion, and it made me a little sad thats all.

What about howard stern?!!?! I find him utterly offensive in every manner but dont expect an apology from him everyday
I just dont get what the big deal is.
I cant believe how affected some of you are about a silly comment.
I agree, but one thing I do disagree with is them reading posts on here and reading them on the air. That to me is not right!

Exactly!!!! They are entitled to their opinion BUT to come on LIW and start looking and reading posts....boy that show must be desperate!
I guess this was my last morning listening to z100...I will miss hearing the sleaze every morning...BUT I guess I will just have to read it from the NY Post and Daily News...which is where they get it from!

I thought I would give a little insight, but I see it was foolish to think that any Bride who wants to rant about something will ever take a step back and just see it for what it was - a brash comment or two on a show that is paid to have talk topics.
I think they were wrong. I think they know it.

hmmm. The funny part is that you are friends with more than 1 of them. Do they all live near each other? Did they all go to school together?
Most of the people that I know only know each other through me. It is strange that more than 1 of them is your friend...
and, no, I wouldn't stick up for my friend. If she did something stupid, I'd tell her that she was an azz. Isn't that what friends are for?

Well thats true, and they usually do let both sides of the story be heard. I dont see why they wouldnt have had some conflicting phone callers on the air...yes they are entitled to read any website they choose, but yes if they make a comment about someones specific post then yes they should let that person have a voice.
Oh well, I guess I never knew how many read this board so often.
I think I'll have to start checking it out more !!

Well thats true, but my friends are in the sales dept at clearchannel I just happen to have met some of the Zoo b4. I guess my point was that I had word from someone on their side. I am not friends with the Zoo directly, but I still feel they were getting a bad rap, so I wanted to stick up for them.
