INSIDER INFO ON THE Z100 TOPIC

Well, I had to respond to the Z100 'Holiday Wedding' issue, as I happen to know some of those guys and was really shocked myself to hear them take the stance that they did on this topic.

I couldnt believe they would say those things, and I wanted to find out a little more info.

So I managed to speak to one of the producers today, and they told me, like a lot of you had thought, 'oh it was just a 'bit' for the show', and that they often take topics and each take a side to create more drama.

I was really surprised that Danielle took the angle that she she did, because she loves weddings and is always promoting them, and in fact has been out to LI to many Bridal Fairs and reception hall promotions. I heard that she was actually really upset at how it came across, and it is such a shame because I have met her a few times and she is such a sweet person, and would help any bride out with any info she has. I have emailed her myself with some wedding questions, and she always writes me back with any help she can give. I dont think she realized how it was coming across and I think she was just just thinking it was a joke topic and not realizing that it could really upset a lot of us who are getting married on or around Holiday Weekends.

Sometimes people do and say things they regret, and I think the Zoo realize that they may have gone a bit far on this one. But although I'm also disappointed in them, I think they know they made a mistake, and I'm sorry to see them getting trashed so much for it. I know they did the damage themselves, but they really are good hearted people, who do so much good and charitable stuff for people in this area, especially Danielle, and I dont know why they would have gone down this road and isolated some listeners by going with this topic.

It is sad, because they have a clean, fun morning show, and didnt have to go there on this subject - even if it was just to stir up some controversy.

Anyway, I'm sorry this is so long, and I know some of you will probably trash me too here, but it's just my opinion, and it made me a little sad thats all.

I mean no harm, but I think most of the girls here were hoping to hear some kind of apology on this morning's show, considering they felt the need to continue the disucssion and read our posts on the radio.

The comments made were shallow and insulting. Like many said, any date or time can be 'bad' for any given person who is invited to a wedding. The mature thing to do is be flattered and accept the invite or politely decline.

i never or rarely listen to this station for this reason. come on!! you think brides to be are THAT wrapped up in planning that we cannot see through this PATHETIC attempt to win us back to stupid z100?

whatever, man. this shows no respect for any of us.

Starting next month, DH and I have 4 weddings and 2 Bat Mitzvahs in a 5 week period. Two are on one day (one in the afternoon and one later that night) and two are a day apart in on a heavily traveled weekend. We are budgeting time accordingly so we can attend each one. Why? Because the people who invited us thought enough of us to share the most incredible milestones in their lives with us - they are NOT burdens to us - THEY ARE BLESSINGS. Perhaps if people looked at these occasions in this way, there would be no need for these discussions on the radio or even here on LIW as there is NEVER a reason to justify how and when a family decides to celebrate happiness.

I didnt even know about this site until a friend of mine told me about it after the Z100 thing, so I am only on it as of today.

They say stuff about different topics everyday and Im sure piss off tons of people. They dont apologize to every single person. They are entitled to an opinion. Because they are on a public radio show means they can't have one???

What about howard stern?!!?! I find him utterly offensive in every manner but dont expect an apology from him everyday

I just dont get what the big deal is.

I cant believe how affected some of you are about a silly comment.
