insomniac post

no reason to just lay there - even if it IS 3:00 AM!

So tomorrow is a week before the big day! I fit on the dress today w. the jewelry. It looks great except ladies make sure you don't lose too much weight! I haen't been trying but the nerves have gotten the best of me...I could feel it in the dress today! Also - wish I had done a bit of tanning a few months back!

We finished the favors. Tiny ivory pinstripe boxes filled w. 5 Jordan almonds. I stuffed the boxes w. light blue shredded tissue paper, so they are in a little nest in there, and tied them with baby blue ribbon - they are very sweet. I put them stacked in an apple basket. ($16.99 at Rag Shop! - It's Jersey's version of Michael's kind of)

We also made the cd's that are FANTASTIC! All Italian music with tons of swing mixed in. Our dance is finally decided! Con Te Partiro by Andrea Bocelli. It's a very romantic opera song so it's slow. Which means I can leave my beautiful train down during it! That song will be followed up w the Glen Miller Orchestra In the Mood to get things going and an invitation to dance to all our friends.

We are taking the easy way out w. the placecards - not thrilled...we are using the ones that come w. the hall...I think I am finally tapped in the creativity department. Anybody have any special way to spice up standard placecards?

We were supposed to have the engagement shoot tomorrow (a bit late I know) but FI has the FLU!!! Another reason I am not in bed right now!!! Okay so just an update! Thanks for listening!

Re: insomniac post

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't sleep!! I still have 5 moths, so I have no excuse!

Sounds like you are all ready!! How exciting
Maybe you could hot glue a flower onto the placecards? My cousin did that and it looked really pretty.

Hope FI gets better quick!

Re: insomniac post

you can buy a strand or two of that fall leaf garland, do you know what I mean, it's in all the craft stores, or at least it was. cut all the leaves off, then use a spot of hot glue or crazy glue to put one leaf on the side of each placecard. I think stacedz did something like this and it was very cute.

Re: insomniac post

You could also turn them inside out so you are using the blank side and get a nice ink stamp that fits your theme and stamp away. Wala original placecards!

Re: insomniac post

How about putting a sticker of a bride and groom on the place cards?
Try taking some Benadryl to get some sleep, but do not take it the day before the wedding! I had to take that the night we got engaged!
Good luck!

I like the leaf idea. You can also buy some fake leaves, and scatter them on the card table as well, just to add a little spice.
Hope the two of you are feeling better

Re: insomniac post

In your craft stofe they probably have a greeting card craft section, it's the new 'in' craft. I got stuff to make gift bags for my BP from there & they had small paper(but really pretty)self-stick rosebuds in packs of like 50 for 2 or 3 dollars. The had loads of other bridal stuff that was more expensive as well. I think you should try to jazz the cards up a bit if you! All of your other stuff sounds so great!
Good Luck & get some sleep!!!!!!!!!!
