insomniac with dgtl. camera...beware
I finished my programs. they are quite non traditional covers. ...although I am a believer in God and church, I'm not into the religious covers, and I'm a little pyschotic, couldn't settle for just one or two designs, so I made assorted ones. And you don't have to tellme wehre they are gong to wind up 5 mntues after they leave the church!! I also wrote out the entire ceremony inside, bc my priest is very hard to understand, and I put a friendhip poem in there and some really nice stuff about our friends and also family that has passed...this ws quite a project. Lets see if I can post!

ok, these are little beeanie bears that his fathers wicked wife bought for us when we first got engaged, and she basically hasn't said one nice word since. But, I found thewicker chairs on ebay and dressed them up, and the bears will be sitting on our place card table....and she better notice them!!

Re: insomniac with dgtl. camera...beware
and last, but not least, the completed centerpieces, or one of them anyway. the candles have been burned and tested, we had to do away with the smallest one bc it was unpredictable....this is the final product. They may not be terrific, buy they cost me about 24$ each to make. The programs by the way, with the vellum and ribbon and all, cost me about $60 to make a hundred (the people I looked into wanted $2.00 a program, but they probalby would have done a better job. AND, I made the copies at work, so it would have been more if I had to do it at kinkos or something. Anyway, that' it for tonights little insomnia slide slow. The alarm clock will be going off in 4 hours and I will be miserable. That gives me four more hours to lay in bed and picture my wedding with the cool or cheesy can coolies, and then picture it without them, and then with them, and hmmmm what should I do. Have I convinced you I'm a psycho bride from h#ll yet?? 15 days!!!

I almost forgot the pic that first made me want to post! Two nights a week I work overnight and it kills me, I am so tired and miserable, and then can't sleep the next night (an you all have to suffer through my 10 posts...) but last night I got home about 4 am, and opened the door to this...

Re: insomniac with dgtl. camera...beware
the first flower was on a piece of notepaper that said, 16 days, with 16 little hearts drawn on it, thenext 15, 14 etc, the two roses on the door were 3days and 2 days, and then on my desk chair were more flowers and a little note that said Oct. 12!!! And then, you just know, that everything is going to be alright. We are all so lucky to have found the one!!

Hi Insomniac - thanks for posting the photos - I really like the candles. Are they on an elevated stand? They look like there is something under the candle holder

Re: insomniac with dgtl. camera...beware
ok,I'm awake, and not happy about it! 15 days to go...! Thanks so much for your kind words! I'm appreciative that you like the programs! Dubliner, yes, they are a little elevated. what is is is an 8' round styrofoam disc covered in burgundy ribbon (which you can't see) with then a leaf garland secured around it (hot glue and jewerly tacks) Then an 8' square styrofoam peice covered in fall fabric on top of that. because the square hangs over the round one, this elevates it about an inch and gives the illusion that the leaves are peaking out from underneath. On top of the square peice is a beveled mirror, the candles are secured with hot glue and the leaves are extra from the garland glued on. I had to burn all the candles for 6 hours and make sure they were alright. the centerpiece looked better witht he candles in the middle up against eachother, but the heat from the shorter one made the sides of the other melt that way, so they had to be spaced apart. The candles are white, but when they are lit, and the lights are a little dim the glow is more cream - colored. yeesh, and all you did was ask about the base, sorry!

Candles
JpsgirlI really like the idea. We are thinking of using candles if they are cheaper than flowers. Our budget is getting a little out of control. I am a little crafty (not like that) Can I ask where u got the candles? Also thinking of doing a 'vacation' there. We keep changing our minds, so I could use sand around the base of the candle (as well as glueing them - which seems a good idea) ---

Re: Candles
the candles are martha steward from Kmart - all together it was about 10$ worth of candles for each one. You need to get un scented candles, which are hard to find in colors - and more expensive, I would have rather had cream colored candles, but couldn't see paying over 2X as much for them! The Vacation theme sounds nice, you could use some shells too! good luck!

Re: Candles
everything is coming out beautiful! I know how you feel, I'm making our programs and I did our placecards w/leaves(hot glue.) I bought our centerpieces which are wrought iron pumpkin coaches w/candles in the middle, but I had to make organza bows for theme to dress them up a bit. My fiance also surprised me w/ flowers last week(not with little notes, but still a nice gesture!) It feels great to be appreciated and for people to realize how much effort we put in!!!! 15 days and counting!!!!!Welcome New Vendors
