Inspired By (question)...

so I am watching last night's episode of Platinum Weddings and it's making me think about how I want to make my wedding unique!

What are you doing or incorporating into your ceremony and reception to make it different and unique?

What have you been inspired by in planning your wedding (colors, themes, etc)?

I'm doing:
-- flip flop baskets
-- possibly a photo booth
-- lots of 'different' must take photos
-- cordial bar

that's about all i can think of right now

Jynx! I'm having pumpkins too! Not halloween-ie, but very autumn. I want pumpkins everywhere!

1) Acapella group performing at ceremony
2) Creating a photo area with vintage props like mustaches on a stick, lace fans, hair feather, parasols, top hats
3) creating books titled after guests for the library
4) using a body form for cards
5) having tassa drummers for FH
6) having guests sign a platter instead of a guest book
7) having a victorian vintage theme using pale pink, gold and ivory as color inspiration

I'm doing autumn with tons of pumpkins as well. My them is autumn and harvest. My coloer scheme is the changing color of leaves. I love that time of year, its so pretty.

I'm having pic taking of each guest as they arrive for a scrapbook guestbook. I was planning on using background props, but I love the idea of using props they can wear. Hope you don't mind, but I might have to steal that idea.

our theme was a beach, i wanted to bring the beach to the reception.

our invitations were messages in a bottle
place cards were sand dollars in a sand box
card box was two penguins in bathing suit and a veil on an island
our favor was a wine pourer and stopper in one with a seashell on it
table numbers was diy silouhette of a palm tree and the table number
i placed seashells around on the tables
cake had some seashells on it as well
memorial candle was on coral candle holders

and our guest book was a little random but worked for us, i love wine and our kitchen is a tuscan themed room, so i placed wine corks out for the guests to sign and we will place them in a wine jar in our kitchen.

Ditto!! My place card holders are going to be mini pumkins. and everything else will be fall related. My bridesmaid dresses are brown, flowers are burnt orange, etcccc. and im also incorporating squirrels into it bcuz thats FH's fav animal and i feel like they are fall related since they are going crazy to collect their food... so maybe a squirrel grooms cake!
