Instead of rice- what are you having thrown after church ceremony?

I do not want to do bubbles for a winter wedding. My church does not allow rice and I was at one point considering confetti- BUT- do not want it in my hair! LOL

What is everyone doing?

I've seen rose petals, but those can be expensive and you have to make sure your church will allow it (mine will, but we'd have to clean it up ourselves afterwards. not worth it!)

confetti didn't work at my cousin's wedding- the wind blew it away and we had to stand REALLY close to her to just get some confetti in pics lol

my other cousin did wedding wands with ribbons and a little bell on them that we shook

I haven't talked to my church yet but I think bird seed, confetti abd rice are all not allowed! I think even rose pedals are not ok, which is really upsetting bc FG was looking forward to that! only alternative ive seen is bubbles or the ribbon wands. which I'm not to excited about either!

I ordered biodegradable white confetti - it looks like snow! I also ordered plastic cones to put it in, with tops that fold so it doesn't fall out.

It's quick clean up for the church too since it's water soluble.

Yes definitely check with your church since at mine nothing can be thrown. We are most likely doing the ribbon wands. I saw on pintrest that someone did sprinkles!

I did sprinkles for my wedding (not at a church though). You couldn't really see it in the pictures though and it got all in my hair and down my dress. I still liked it though because it was something different and I love ice cream so it was a little more personal. I bought little bags from michaels and made labels that said sprinkle with love and had them handed out before the ceremony.

My FH niece had bells at her wedding. Every one had one and we all rang them when they came out of the church. We also used them at the reception for them to kiss.

I did bells at our wedding. My family tradition is bells, so I bought little jingle bells and had a poem with them.

I bought wedding poppers made out of biodegradable confetti. I hope they work when wedding time comes lol

We're thinking of doing rose petals.

At a recent wedding I attended, the couple lighted wish lanterns after the ceremony and let them float away. They looked really awesome against the backdrop of the sky. Also, they are made of biodegradable materials so you go green at the same time.

we are making small pennant flats that say things like 'yay!' and 'they did!' and attaching different ribbons. we're leaving them on each guest's chair for the ceremony to wave as we walk up the aisle after we're married.

I used the biodegradable heart shaped rice confetti they sell at michaels. It was cheap and looked pretty in pictures. Actually, our friends and family thought they were sprinkles and everyone was eating them!!

Saw a pic from a friend that did this (she lives in tx and I couldn't make the wedding). Did u make them yet? She bought hers off etsy and spent a ton. Would love to see yours!

a few samples have been made - here's a pic! my wedding planner/designer made some for us and gave us the specifics on how to make the rest ourselves. some of them will just be ribbon wands, some will have pennants and ribbons.

I love the idea of sparklers especially for a winter time wedding. If we were doing a church ceremony I would probably do this
