instead of tossing the bouquet...

instead of tossing the bouquet...

Is there anything else I can do in its place? I know of the anniversary dance, but I cannot do that for a 'family reason'. So I wanted to get some ideas on what else I could do. Someone on this board mentioned a dance they did that had all married & engaged couples on the dance floor?? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Yeah Im in the same boat. Since im like the last one to get married, there will be no single people to do a Bo-k toss to.
Thanks for posting the question

You could just ask all the married women to the dance floor for the bouquet toss....announce that you would like to honor your married guests since that is what the day is all about....and Im sure that the married guys would love to get up for the garter toss...(there is at least one married guy who gets up anyway)

It's so hard - I just don't want to do the whole garter/bouquet thing & most of my friends are married. And those who aren't might not want to go out there. I know I hated having to feel obligated to do that.

Do you have anyone that is engaged? My cousin gave me her bouquet at her wedding and they said something along the lines of since we already know who is the next to get married we are giving this to her....or something like that. It was really sweet and cute.

If you are close to someone (like your mom or grandma) you can dedicate the bo-k to her by giving a speach and calling her up and then giving it to her.

I'm planning on doing that - I'll give a speech about my godmother and then give the bouquet to her - she'll cry, I'll cry, and then to stop us from crying, the dj will start playing 'Mustang Sally' cause she's my Aunt Sally.

At my friends wedding, instead of tossing bouquet, they had all couples on the dance floor, then the DJ said, 'If you been together for more than 5 years, please continue dance, then he did 10, etc.' The last couple standing (people who have been together the longest) got the bouquet and garter.

I told my mom I am dedicating it to my granmda but I lied...

Im giving it to her. The father walks you down the aisle and has his dance, but my mom did the majority of my raising and I want to let her know how much I love her!

we are having all people get up on the dance floor and the woman who catches the bo-k will dance with the groom and the guy who catches the garter will dance with me.

We really wanted to include this tradition, but we have no single people!

we're having all the married couples on the floor. the most current married couples will sit down first. the last standing couple is the one that's married the longest will get the bouquet

I don't like the garter/bo-k toss either and will do the anniversary dance

I have heard that you can have all the women up on the dance floor and instead of throwing a bo-k, it is a bo-k of all loose roses so when you throw it all the women get one (or almost all the women).

Great ideas...similarly-
I went to a wedding where she had her bouquet made so she could seperate it...she gave a piece to her mother, MIL, and grandmas....with a really nice speech...

I'm doing this as well. I really wanted to do this tradition but my sister had the anniversary dance last year and we will be having no single people there, so Hopefully it will go over well.

I'm giving my mother my bo-k too. She doesn't
know this yet. She thinks we're doing the toss.

Re: instead of tossing the bouquet...

I had planned on giving it to DH's Nana since she was the only grandparent between the both of us. She unfortunately was admitted to the hospital, where she still is, one week before our wedding so I had to scrap that idea. I would have loved to have presented it to my mother and should have but I was afraid of the repercusion with FMIL who is quite difficult.

We are doing the anniversary dance. But I'm not sure I want to do that anymore. The oldest couple married at our wedding is FH's aunt and uncle and he doesn't really like them, heahah. We might just skip it and keep on dancing

I want to do this as well, but what can I do to present it - what kind of dance?
