Instead of using champagne......

I heard to save some $$ that you can use Perseco(an Italian sparkling wine) for the toast. Has anyone ever tasted this? I read it in a magazine and was considering it b/c a lot of my guests don't like champagne, includng my FH and I. Does anyone think this is tacky?

Re: Instead of using champagne......

Why would that be tacky? If you don't like champagne, than it sounds like a nice alternative. It's your wedding, so do what you want to make the day perfect for YOU and your GROOM!

I'm sorry though - I have never tasted that wine, so cannot offer an opinion about that. Good luck!

Re: Instead of using champagne......

Order some and see how you like it! If the two of you give it a thumbs up, then go ahead with it! :)

Re: Instead of using champagne......

You ladies are right. I'll be buying some this weekend and testing it out. Sometimes it's hard not to worry about what other people will say about your wedding, but I guess I have to learn that it is our day and we above all else have to be happy.

Re: Instead of using champagne......

Do not listen to anyone and their ideas about your day. It is YOUR DAY. Do whatever makes you happy!!!! (Now, if only I could listen and learn from this lol)

Re: Instead of using champagne......

That is not tacky at all. In fact you are under no obligation to serve champagne at all. As long as your guests have a glass full of something to toast with you are fine.
I don't like alchol so my glass will have sparkling cider in it. I just hate the taste.
