Interfaith Priest & Rabbi needed for ceremony

Hi Girls-can anyone recommend a priest and rabbi for an interfaith ceremony?

you mean catholic priest? I don't know if they do that... Catholics can only get married in a physical church... I'd be surpised if they'd let clergy from another faith perform any non-catholic prayers or traditions....... I could be wrong, though....

*Most* Priests & Rabbi's won't do it ...

BUT there are a few who will, have no fear

I highly recommend Monsignor Lisante and Rabbi Block, we are using them for our ceremony next month at the NRC. They work very well together, and have performed many ceremonies as a team.

We used Rev. Sica & Rabbi May. They were wonderful and we have gotten so many compliments on our ceremony. They are so nice and just put me totally at ease when we met with them. They worked together on many weddings. FM me if you need phone #'s.

We're jewish and catholic and getting married at the RH by a catholic priest and a rabbi. It won't be recognized by the church, we could have done the paperwork to get it done, and you can, it's just not an issue for us. Just wanted to let you know it is possible though, I don't know exactly what goes into it but I know there's brides on here that do. I'm getting married by Rabbi Ronald Broden and Father Rich Hasselbach.

Actually you can have an interfaith marriage in a catholic church. We're getting married in my church, St. Rose in Massapequa. My FH is jewish but not practicing so we're getting married by a deacon and a cantor will be there as well. FM me for info

I was going to recommend RAbbi Block too. When I remarried the pastor from my church who I knew for a long time did come to the Hall and married us along with Rabbi Block (my husband is Jewish & I'm Italian). They did a wonderful job. Father Failla is now retired or I would tell you to call him.
A lot of the reception halls that let you get married there have Rabbi Blocks name and phone number. It's funny because he even married a girlfriend of mine who is Jewish and her husband is Italian and also my friend's son and even went into the church for that one.
Good luck.

Re: Interfaith Priest & Rabbi needed for ceremony

We are using Rabbi Alan Stein (newyorkrabbi.com) and a deacon from my parents church for an interfaith ceremony at our RH.

In order to do this, we had to attend Pre-Cana and apply for two dispensations.

When we first got engaged, I did some research on the website for the Diocese of Rockville Centre. I e-mailed the Chancellor's Office with my questions. A very nice person, named Sister Kathleen called me back and explained the procedures.

The website also lists the Pre-Cana classes. The interfaith class is offered twice a year (fall and spring).

Rabbi Alan Stein married me in Sept. He was wonderful. I also had a minister Alan Ramirez who was terrific. Rabbi Stein had given me his name. I am pretty sure he is not catholic but maybe Rabbi Stein can give you the name of an officiant who will do it with him that is catholic. GOod luck!
