Internship news...

I am sure you will get it on the next round, I have utter and complete faith in you.

Jackie- it's their loss not to have someone as caring and talented as you are at their site. Things will work out- Monday I'm sure you will find something that works best for you.

Jackie - I did not LOVE where I chose to do my internship (even though it was our own choice, I was strongly persuaded to go there). I didn't always love it, but I met a great person who has become a true friend and mentor and it led to my first counseling position.
No matter what happens, there will be a silver lining!

Thanks everyone. Your support really helps. I found out that at least 6 of my classmates didn't get matched today. That's an abnormally large percentage, since there are only 18 of us. I feel better b/c i'm in good company. Hopefully we'll all find something next week.

Jackie, Sorry to hear you didn't match. I was thinking about you this morning as I remember what a stressful night it was for me. It's so disappointing! Hopefully, you will find a place through clearinghouse though. I have heard of people finding great internships that way so don't lose hope. Are you definitely set on doing internship this year? You can always wait until the following year (and work on dissertation instead)? One of my fellow interns did that and it worked out really well for him the second year around. Good luck and keep us updated!

I really do want to do internship next year, but if I don't find anything in Clearinghouse that I think will be a good match for me, than I will put it off a year and spend some time working at the master's level. I was thinking about trying to find a leave position in a school district for next year. We'll see what happens on monday. Thanks so much for your support and I will definitely keep you posted.

I'm sorry to hear that your friend didn't match. Wish her good luck for me! Do you have any idea how many people in her program were unmatched? There are 6 in mine, which is 1/3 of us!
