Kiera started on cereal about 2 weeks ago. We went through the rice, oatmeal and barley and now the doctor says we can start adding in some fruits. We are going to try applesauce tonight but I have some questions:
Do I mix it in with the cereal or do I do it separate?
Do I heat up the applesauce? If so for how long?
TIA.

Re: Introducing fruits
I'd keep it separate so she aquires a taste for the aplesauce, serve it at room temp, good luck!!!

Re: Introducing fruits
We started with yellow/orange vegetables, but I always put it in his little bowl keeping them separate. I mix the cereal first, then push to one side and put the fruit or veg in. I didn't heat it up, DS likes everything room temp.
I saw DH one day mix it all up and he was like whats the difference? I said fine I am going to mix all your food up and put it in a bowl! LOL I just think the variety and actually tasting the different flavors is important, I know it all goes to the same place.

Re: Introducing fruits
I always mix it in - the cereal is so tasteless that the fruit flavor will come through loud & clear. Plus some of the fruits are thinner consistency than others and you;ll probably find you'll need some cereal to bulk it up. HTH

Re: Introducing fruits
I mix in the fruit with the cereal - otherwise Nick won't eat the cereal. I give him the vegetables separate though.
