Invation Wording help - favor vs. favour ?

On the response card...

The favor of a reply is requested...

The favour of a reply is requested...

Is there a difference between favor and favour besides the spelling? Is one more appropriate?

I've seen it both ways.

Re: Invation Wording help - favor vs. favour ?

Favour is the British way of spelling it, and it's a little fancier. Exact same meaning.

All of the sample invites I saw said favour - I went with that.

Re: Invation Wording help - favor vs. favour ?

If you used HONOUR on your invite, use FAVOUR on the Reply card....it's really just the British way of spelling it, but to us it looks fancier. I used 'favour'.

Re: Invation Wording help - favor vs. favour ?

I believe on wedding invites you always use the more formal, British spelling..

Why? Who knows.. it is just what is done.
