Invitation Addressing - handwrite or clear labels?
Our invitations are in and we are picking them up tonight. I want to get them out by 10/1 and I have a question on addressing? We would rather not pay for calligraphy. Which do you think is better: to handwrite them or to do clear address labels. I have heard doing them through the computer sometimes the envelopes curl up, etc, and I am not the best with the computer stuff anyway. Please let me know what you think.

I printed our envelopes at work and it came out very nice and free. But if that is not an option for you I would get your bridal party together and have an address party and handwrite them. We recently received an invitation to a wedding with a label and it looked really cheap in my opinion. Good luck!

I wouldnt' do the clear label. Give the printer a try. It was MUCH easier than I anticipated. There are also places that do digital calligraphy. There are some vendors on this site I think!

I would not do the clear labels either...there is digital caligraphy (ink spun) which seems inexpensive or maybe you have a friend who has a good printer.

We do have a laser printer at work I could try. Again, I am not the best with this computer stuff. Can anyone let me know exactly how to do it. Sorry to sound so lame, I just son't want to screw up the envelopes.

Clear labels look awful and really cheapen your invitations. You can handwrite them or you can do a test envelope on your computer. If it works out okay on the computer, do them one at a time and take your time. If not, handwrite them and ask a friend to help you. It takes a lot of time.

I agree with Michele...Don't use clear labels!! I know a lot of people use the computer, but I am a handwritten fan...also that you (or with assistance) do it yourself. It says to me that you took the time to invite each person individually...You can buy a calligraphy pen and practice...or just go slowly in your normal handwriting

With the printer - if you do it that way - test it on like 10 envelopes that arent your 'real ones'. And go one by one. Don't try to import a few names at one time. Just hand feed each one so you can keep track. Also - give the printer a rest between each 10 or so - this way it won't heat up causing more of a curl. Mine curled only a little and I put them under a dictionary the next day. Once I filled them with all the stuffing they were FINE!Welcome New Vendors
