Invitation Cost? I have no idea!
Next week we are looking to pick out invitations. I am clueless as to what to budget for this and was looking for some feedback. Does anyone have any input??

Invitation Cost? I have no idea!
I was very nervous about my invitations. I originally had budgeted $1000. A lot of the local store hours didn't fit my work hours so we were forced to order online - BEST decision.Almost every online company will send you several free samples, or for less that $2 a piece. We wound up with about 25 samples from 5 different website.
In the end, we ordered about 140 invites (invite, RSVP card & accomidation card) for less than $400 through Invitations by Dawn.
The other companies we liked were wedding paper divas and invitations by David's bridal.

It really depends on what you are looking for. Things like foil and letterpress will cost more. Also you will probbaly pay more for something custom from either etsy (unless you buy a template and print your own) or a local invite shop vs. ordering online from like a mygatsby WPD etc. I know some girls have spent over 1K on invites. Were planning on staying around 400$ for 150 invites and using mygatsby. Also, keep in mind postage costs and costs to have them addressed

Depending on what you're looking for they can range from what I've seen $2 per invite to like $30 per invite. It makes my effin head spin lol

This is crazy! Nothing about planning has driven me up the wall except for this; it is insane. I don't want anything fancy and no ribbons or other stuff. Just a plain piece of nice (heavier) paper. A friend will be doing calligraphy for the addressing. I just want to make sure that when we are quoted something, I will know if that's too high or not! Uggggghhhh!

If you want basic, and they're quoting you over like$600, you can do better elsewhere

It really depends on what you're looking for. However anything over $1500 is far too much. Especially if all you need is 100 invites (average amount). I agree it's a head spinner. There is so much to choose from, samples are a pain in the butt and in the end you throw away all the samples anyway. I budgeted for $1000 but I wanted really fancy invites (so of course my budget was unrealistic lol). I paid $1450 for 125 invitations. I love them and I def wanted them! I used Jens Invites. She has a lot of beautiful designs and for far cheaper. Check her work out on IG. She's great to work with.

I used Jessica Leigh Paperie and I thought she was great. Loved her. She works with you on price too.

I used zazzle online and loved them. To be honest, the invites were the one thing I didn't stress about. I went with something simple. I even used the directions cards that my venue gave me because spending money on something that will be trashed just didn't sit right with me. I spent 235 for 75 invites. I'm adding vellum between invite and RSVP and wrapping them up nicely in twine that I may tie up with a little shell. It will add that elegant touch but for so much less.Welcome New Vendors
