I have been looking for invitations that are 'affordable' and nice looking. I have been having some serious difficulty getting an invite that isn't expensive n not look cheap or vice versa. I was in contact with Pippy's Sweets and spoke with Diana about a wrap invitation. I couldn't wait for the invite. It arrived yesterday in the mail, opening it with anticipation and I was completely disappointed!! The invitation just look real plain looking and didn't have any 'WOW' effect like the other invites I have seen her do. So anyway now I'm really depressed, this whole wedding thing has been driving me mad!!! I don't want 2 spend too much money on invitations, but I feel like that might be my only way at this point!!!!
Sorry so long, I usually don't let myself get upset like this, but this in getting the best of me!!!!

Re: INVITATION DRAMA!!
Yeah, unfortunately I had a similar experience when I received her sample. I was disappointed that the inserts were just regular paper and not cardstock.
However, I did email her (after some LIW girls mentioned something) to ask if she can do them in cardstock and she said no problem.
I'm still not sure if I'm using her, another vendor, or just DIY'ing.

Re: INVITATION DRAMA!!
I know EXACTLY how you feel. Here's what I finally did that helped. I went to Papyrus in Roosevelt field mall and pretty much looked at invites int he books that were around the price range I wanted to spend. I wrote down the names, etc and then went home and online to see what I could do else where as far as price. The invites I went with was not at all what I wanted. I wanted something with color and that was kind of personalized...I could find anything within my price range. I requested samples of invites I thought were going to be great and then I got them and they were as think a peice of paper. Anyway, I ended up going with, I think it was Carlson Craft , $113 for 75 invites, response cards, liners and return address envelopes. Im having a Sunday Day weddind so I settled and thought they would be nice...and I have to say, even though this was not my first pick I am SOOOOOO happy I didnt spend a lot.

Re: INVITATION DRAMA!!
I got wrap invites and I love them! They're in my album and you can see it in other colors on eweddings.com
I wouldn't say they're top-dollar quality, but you do get what you pay for. Think of it this way- it all gets thrown out anyway. I know my invites aren't the fanciest or made of the best paper, but it's definitely unique looking and goes with my color scheme- and VERY affordable. That's all I could ask for in an invite!
Believe me, I know how you feel. Invites were SO frustrating for me. FH would not budge on the budget (heehee!). Luckily I finally found these and I'm very happy!

Re: INVITATION DRAMA!!
I went over on my invitation budget by almost double. I budgeted $200 and I paid $370 for 75 invitations, reception cards and rsvps w/ envelopes. They're really nice, and I figured b/c I needed so few, I could get away with it. I do love them though. I went crazy looking for something cheaper, but my mind always wandered back to the invitations I eventually ordered.

My sister has been making invites for people (we are working on being a vendor on here). LIW girls are loving them. Check out pics in my album of MsMichel invites.

Also try exclusivelyweddings.com. They have some really nice invites and cheap. You can get a wrap and dress it up yourself or a pocket. This is what Im doing because I just can' t afford the expensive ones.
