Invitation Etiquette Question

Invitation Etiquette Question

I have a couple of instances where an entire family is invited to the wedding. The 'kids' are all over 17 though, but all still live at home.

Is it proper to send 1 invite to 'The ___ Family' or does each child get their own (we aren't inviting them with guests).

Also, my 2 little cousins who are my FG's - do they need their own separate invitations or can it again be addressed as 'The ___ Family'?

TIA ladies!

If they are all over 17 i would send them separate invites.

I don't think the fg's need invitations just include them on the parents invite.

Agreed. Although if you have extra invitations, you may want to give one to the FGs as a keepsake. They might like that.

Re: Invitation Etiquette Question

We don't really have any families we're inviting with more than 2 kids so we did:

Mr. & Mrs. D____ R_______
Miss S____ R_______

We're still deciding what to do when there are 2 kids, like 'Mssrs. ___ and _____ ______' which I think looks goofy but might be proper. We might do Mr. ______ and Mr. _______ _______ as the second line

I think it looks more formal than 'the ___ Family' and acknowledges the names of the kids

these are not kids who are 18+ btw

friends of mine who live at home, whose parents are also being invited are getting their own invites

Re: Invitation Etiquette Question

Over 17 etiquette says they get their own invitation. The FGs however can go on their parents invitations, but I wouldnt put 'The ___Family' on it.

I would put Mr. & Mrs. Smith
FG Smith

Since you would be sending other invitations to the rest of the family seperately.

FG on parent invite. And I think it would be okay to write the ____family. The idea someone mentioned about writing
Mrs.__and Mr.__
Miss___
sounds great though. And if there are more than one child you can just list the kids names seperatly.
