Ok...my parents are paying for my wedding 100%. My FH parents have not offered a dime, which is fine. But they are upset because their names are not on the invitations. My invites go like this:
Mr and Mrs R H&^*^&^* Would like to invite you blah blah blah to the wedding of their daughter Lisa blah blah to Joe Schmoe
Am I wrong? I thought whoever hosted the event puts their name on the invite.

Re: Invitation Fiasco!!! PLease help me!!!
I would put all the parents' names on, if you can, just to honor them and the joining of your families. JMHO - that's what we did, and for circumstances that followed after, I am so glad we did. (Only b/c my ILs and my parents will not have the opportunity to be honored like that ever again.) I like the wording using 'the son of' - it does make clear your parents are hosting. Good luck!

technically it is..but most list both sets out of respect..
I have also seen Mr and Mrs XXXX request the honor of your presence to the marriage of their daughter XXXXX to XXXXXX son of Mr and Mrs XXXXX
I am going to do something similar to this.
This is how I did mine. My FIL haven't paid for anything.

We put neither parents names on, though my parents split the cost with me.

We are paying for the wedding ourselves...I haven't figured out how to word the invites! I think you should do what makes you happy! It's your wedding!

This is what I did to make everyone happy.. I know its my day but I really did not want to hear the Blah Blah Blah. As they say its a respect thing. I am paying 80% for this wedding and the rest my parents.

You can put his parents names if you like as suggest above (son of XXXX and XXX). However, the hosts (your parents) are footing the entire bill and if they don't want his parents listed, so be it.

Both of our parents are contributing to the wedding so they will both be on the invitation. I think out of respect regardless it should have both parents names on the invites

Re: Invitation Fiasco!!! PLease help me!!!
We are paying for everything but I want my parents names and FI wants to list his deceased mother. My parents are divorced so the invite wording got a bit complicated. I came up with a solution though:
akamrsT
daughter of Mr. A and Ms. B
and
MrT
son of Mr. X and the late Mrs. X
invite you to share our joy
blah blah blah

I agree that the invites should include the host parents, whichever set of parents that is. I included FH parents because I have seen too many of my friends go through the same thing when they did not include their FH's parent. FH's parents didn't even ask---I just did it to keep the peace.
We are paying for our own wedding 100% but I am putting my parents name on it, it means so much to them.
His parents, well we aer hoping they show up on time so too bad they don't get that honor, but that is JMO in our 'special' situation

we put mr & mrs brides parents and mr & mrs grooms parents request the honor of your precense blah blah blah
WE paid for our wedding ourselves, though both parents gave as much as they could. We didnt care about making sure people knew who paid for the wedding by seeing the names listed... we just did it the way we wanted to- which was including our parents.
my mom actually had tears in her eyes when she saw the invite b/c she didnt expect to have their names on it (i guess she thought of it in the sense of 'who's payng' too). it was worth it to me to see her that happy
