How did/are you girls wording your invites if the FIL's are not contributing to the wedding. I want to just put my parents name on the invitation but my mother says I should put theirs on it as well. Please post some options for me.
Thanks

Re: Invitation Help
since my fil's are not contributing either we are not putting their names on the invitation, end of story. i just feel that since my parents are contributing 90% of the cost of this wedding, only their names should be on there, so I would just do the same - it will save time and aggrevation - jmo

Re: Invitation Help
We are doing it like this:
Mr. & Mrs. (MY PARENTS) request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daugher
Jennifer
to
William
son of Mr. (his dad) and Mrs. (his mom)

Re: Invitation Help
i believe etiquette (spelling) says that if his parents contributte it says son of if they dont it should read
mr and mrs request the honour of your presence at the marriage of their daughter Kristin to Francesco At 6:00

Re: Invitation Help
My parents are contributing and my in laws aren't paying a dime but we mentioned both of their names. I didn't want to make anyone mad or embarrass them since they don't have much money.

We did this too...but from what I was told if the girl's parents pay you do not put her last name on the invite but you include the grooms last name.

My dad and FH's dad passed away. i'm gonna word it
'You are invited (or whatever i'm gonna write in the beginning)
my name daughter of (list both parents)
to FH son of (list both of his parents)'
no matter what you are always their child and they are always your parents.
IMO anyway

Re: Invitation Help
all families are pitching in in my situation and FH's father has passed..our invitation reads
Mr. and Mrs. Brides dad and stepmom Mr. and Mrs. Brides mom and stepdad and Mrs. Grooms Mom
request the pleasure of your company at the marriage of their children.....
when you put the grooms names under his name such as son of ..... it implies they have not contributed. The hosts of the wedding are always listed at the top.
FH's father is not named because a deceased person cannot invite you to a wedding. I am mentioning his dad in other ways at the wedding.

Re: Invitation Help
What is the proper way to write the invitations out.
My parents are paying and his parents are not.
If there names are not supposed to be on the invitation under his name then I am deleting them off.
TIA.....
