FH like every other FH gives me the names of his coworkers for the invitations and it's nicknames..no last names..
FH does not work in an office so he cannot readily get all the addresses but he can hand invites to them. Should I just address them the way he gives it to me and have him hand them to them and not bother spending money on getting a nickname or just a first name put on an envelope by the calligrapher...
Could you imagine...Little Mike and Guest in calligraphy

Re: Invitation Issues..Do I
I would at least try to get last name. FH did the same thing to me. I made him send a massive text to get everyone infomation
FMIL has friends that she does know there first name. She refers to them as Mrs and there last name. When asked she had to think about them. His side of invites are a hot mess.

You know what? I think that would sorta be cute to have their nicknames in calligraphy! hahaha...but I understand if that would bother you. I think it's find if he hands those few off to the guys in person.

I was once handed an invitation with my first and last only name on it and I thought it was tacky that it was not addressed to my home. I thought they didn't take the effort to get to know my information.
Since they did not have my info, I also never received a thank you.
I would recommend your FH making the effort to get the info. It really also sets a tone for your wedding.

I agree, it does set a tone for the wedding. FH had these 'friends' that he didnt even know their last name.. (such GOOD friends they are). I told him, if you cant even get their first and last names, they shouldnt even be invited. I lost that battle, but left it up to him to get me the proper names. Those last few invitations went out a bit later than the rest, because he loves to procrastinate, and could not even do that one simple task. But def put their correct names on it, not nick names.

I told him the same thing last night...
He works in construction and his buddies are at different sites at different times so...those will just have to go out much later....or until he gets his act together...

Re: Invitation Issues..Do I
E! i have this same problem with 2 of fh's friends that it seems the ENTIRE world knows them ONLY by their nicknames. I dont even think their mom's remember their REAL NAMES. they of course REFUSE to tell us their OFFICIAL GOVERNMENT name. i'm starting to wonder if i should even invite them at all but being that guests are 90% mine and only 10% from FH's side I have to give in. I will NOT however have nicknames done by calligraphy. i am just going to leave their invitation envelope blank and have FH hand it to them. wat else can i do?
I did not however even THINK about the placecards!!! maybe i'll just write LEE's FRIEND #1 and #2!

I would get the first and last name. Only because your invites are amazing and formal so the wording should be formal too!

Thats really funny E... ' Little Mike' in calligraphy
LOL that is too funny but i would just ask your FH to get their real names. The guys might not mind but if their wives for example see it they might think why its like that lol.
I am sure there is a way he can get their names
even for gf's names of his friends, if dh didnt know the last name, i said well call and ask them.
