Invitation questions

Hello folks.

Can you please let me know if the return address should also go on the reply card envelope as well as the large envelope or is it ok to forego that? I suppose it's safest, yes?

Also, for those who've had their guest's addresses printed right on the envelopes, how much more was that to do? My friend is a graphic artist and doing the invites. I told her we'd opt to have the envelopes printed on so late in the game (my wedding's 11/28 and we'd like to get them ordered this week and returned next weekish to get out by end of the month. She said that the addresses will be printed on labels and to set them up accordingly!!! Please to help w/ you pearls of wisdom. Thanks.

Re: Invitation questions

I'm just a bit confused. Your name will be on the response card, do you want to put your guests return address on the card? Your return address goes on the outer envelope just incase the invitation gets lost or it's sent to a wrong address.

I can't help you with your second question because we used the computer for the inner envelopes and labels for the outter.

Re: Invitation questions

Thanks for your reply.

We'll be putting our return address on the outer envelope for certain. I'm sorry to have confused you and anyone who reads my request b/c it was I who was confused. I was told my address would go on the outer and inner envelope and wondered why I'd need a return address on the inner envelope and thought she meant the reply card, which didn't make sense. It's not typical for the inner envelope to have a return address, right? Also, you labeled your outer envelopes, but printed the inner? I won't be putting anything on our inner envelopes - maybe, maybe their names, but I've usually seen them blank and thought I could save a bit of $ there...

Re: Invitation questions

On our invitations, the return address appears on the reply envelope and on the flap of the large envelope. I assume by large envelope you mean the envelope you are sending everything in; the return address is there so that it can be sent back if it doesn't get delivered.

I haven't done the addressing, yet.

ETA: The return address was not on the reply envelope.

Re: Invitation questions

You edited your msg. to say that the return add. was not on the reply envelope. You mean YOUR return address, right? So was your guest's return address not on their, either?

Yes, by the bigger envelope, I mean the outer one that will have everything in it and will be read by the postperson. How P.C. is that?

Oy, this seems to be the most stressful part of the planning, so far. Thank you!!

Re: Invitation questions

The reply envelope has our return address only. The guest's address will appear only on the large, outer envelope.

Our address will appear in two places:
1- on the large, outer envelope as a return address (in case the mail is undeliverable)
2- on the small reply envelope as the address the deliverperson reads

Hope this helps.

Re: Invitation questions

LOL! Oh, you're saying return address in a different way I'm thinking about it - as the return address on the envelope, in case it doesn't get delivered. But yes, of course the reply card will be returned to our address. I wasn't even thinking about that. I wondered if the guest's return address should be printed on the envelope of the reply card, in case theirs doesn't get back to us...

Ah, I'm really so exhausted today that I can't be clear on email. I do apologize for the confusion but you've made it all clear for me. Thank you.
