I am so confused and really don't know what to do. I am trying to have nice invitations without the ridiculous cost but it's all really confusing. I don't mind some of the DIY aspects. I don't need calligraphy but I do want nicely printed invites as well as place cards. How does this all work? Can anyone provide some information or details? Does anyone have any recommendations on any inexpensive local places, even if it might only be for addressing the envelopes or place cards? And how does that work, really....I mean I assume you don't have your full guest list until about a month prior so how do the place cards work? Also, can anyone recommend any online sites they may have used? I have looked at Wedding*Paper*Diva$ as well as Invitations by Dawn and David's Bridal and Vista Print. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated! Stressing out over here!!!

I would defnitely request samples. I have searched all of the sites you stated including Etsy, Zazzle, Exclusively wedding,Davids Bridal and more. I mightbe going with Exclusively wedding. I loved the quality of my sample.

This! I didn't use Cathy, but I heard great things. I ordered my invitations from bed bath beyond online, and love them. I did use Wedding Ink for the envelopes, and they came out great, and very reasonable...
Ok so I checked out Bed Batha nd Beyond and I am loving some of their stuff. Just a quick question for those of you who may have used them - can you use their coupons??? Or are there coupon codes out there???

No coupons. Also, you can't even use a BB&B gift card, as I already tried that.
My invitations were called 'stately' and they were only .99c each. They really came out beautiful in person. I ordered a sample first. They did not look cheap at all.

Well that stinks - about the coupon/gift card - not about your invites! I just ordered a few samples so we will see! I love how the raised thermography press is so inexpensive!
I didn't fully look into it but there are options for wording right? FH and I are paying for the whole thing and I don't want to put any parents names on if I can help it!

Do they print the addresses on the envelopes?

Re: Invitation Stress
Return address, yes. I also opted for pearl lined inner envelopes for an upcharge. Still, the whole order was about $300 for 125 invites and response cards.

SAME exact price and # of invites
No I don't believe you can use a coupon, and I couldn't find one online, but I thought I'd be spending way over $500 so I felt it was pretty reasonable w/out the coupon!

Re: Invitation Stress
to those who tried to use bed bath and beyond coupons - were these a special order item you bought online or did they tell you no at the registers?
i ordered my favors through the customer service desk at bed bath and beyond and used 15 $5 off coupons - it brought the price of each favor down to $1 each.

Re: Invitation Stress
Check out mygatsby.com. My invites came out really great and I didn't spend a lot(even though my guests thought I did). They have different promotions and discounts throughout the year as well.

Re: Invitation Stress
My FMIL found some nice inexpensive invites on Amazon and printed them out from home. One of FH's aunts can't stop talking about how nice they came out! They were purchased from vendor Target's Club Wedd collection.
