Re: Invitation wording
Yes, I think you write something like 'Reception immediately following' or something like that...

Re: Invitation wording
Thanks. Everyone/thing seems to say that I am supposed to say 'reception to follow' yet I have seen several invitations where people say nothing. I really do think people know that the reception is following. I am curious what other brides are doing especially those with Sunday daytime weddings. ????

Re: Invitation wording
hi novembergirl,i didnt put anything on my invite about the reception (i wanted to but lost that battle!). actually, the woman who did my invitations said it wasnt necessary. i'm sure people will know there will be a reception if you dont have it written there though.....

Re: Invitation wording
Thanks Octobergirl. Finally someone validating that it is okay to leave it out. And since we are getting married at the same place, I know you have good taste!

Re: Invitation wording
My invitations are very simple, by Checkerboard. It is a card. The envelope has a french flap and a moire lining. It is a single envelope. What are yours like, Octobergirl?

our invites are rectangular, long and three layered (ivory on frosted ivory on ivory) does that make sense? only one envelope with the frosted ivory on the liner. and of course, no 'reception to follow' anywhere on the invite!

Re: novembergirl
Funny, mine are rectangular and long too. They are also Ivory on Ivory since the Moire lining is also Ivory. Are you using Carlyles direction card or making your own? Also, are you using hand calligraphy or machine? I was thinkng about using Inkspun since Valenia recommended them!

we are using carlye's direction card. i thought they were fine. we are also using machine calligraphy... they came out really nice, you would never know they were not done by hand. if you want to give me your email address, i can give you the womans name who did mine, i just dont want to give it out over the internet... let me know if you want it.happy planning!

Re: Invitation wording
If I got an invitation that said nothing about the reception, I would be confused, but that's just me. I did get one once, and the bride called me to tell me it was important to them that I be at the ceremony although they could not invite me to the reception, so maybe that's why I think that way. (it was an ex-boyfriends sister and would have been to awkward to invite me to the reception. My invite is a Z-fold, and on the third part we were supposed to put some love quote or something. Instead, we put the reception info, and saved having to get the reception cards! Also, I used Microsoft word to address my inner and outer envelopes. They don't have a calligraphy font but we used a nice script one. There were a few glitches if they weren't fed right (and they had to be fed individually) but all in all they came out really nice. My other choice was to go with inkspun, but I decided to do it myself and use the money for something else. Good luck!Welcome New Vendors
