invitation wording

I'm way ahead of the game but this is what i'm THINKING of for invitation wording....

''In this Dance of life i'm glad to have my last Dance with You.''

You are cordially invited to attend the wedding of

Adriana Lee
daughter of Peter J. and Diana S.

to

Steven Edward
son of Bruce W. and Cecelia W.

at
blah blah blah.'

Both of our fathers are deceased and his parents are divorced and his father remarried. (the S. and W. are last names)

My mom is ok with the wording and FH could care less lol. I think i should ask his mother her opinion but i don't know how to go about it lol.

Re: invitation wording

This is definitely respectful of both sets of parents. I think you did a good job.

Re: invitation wording

I think that is the best way to address an invite when there are deceased/divorced/remarried parents involved. Despite whatever happened, you and FH are still the daughter and son of only two people.

Re: invitation wording

i don't know how that works with deceased parents. FH's dad passed away & when i told my mom i wanted to include his name on the invite my mom said you don't do that.

Re: invitation wording

My Mom died when I was 18 and I could never imagine sending out a wedding invite without her name on it so we are doing this:

Maria Louise Jones
daughter of Margaret Elizabeth Jones and the late Mark Allen Jones
and
John Matthew Smith
son of Mr. and Mrs. James Michael Smith
request the honour of your presence
at their marriage

or

Emma Marie
daughter of
Stuart Foster and Meredith Foster, in blessed memory
and
Walter Christopher Hough
son of Theodore and Harriet Hough
request the honor of your presence
at their marriage
Saturday, the eighteenth of June
Two thousand and four
at six o’clock
Greenacres Country Club
Somerset, New Jersey
