so i just bring them to the post office and drop them in the box? it's seems so informal

I've heard some girls when they brought them the post office employee let them hand-cancel the invitations themselves. If you wanted it to be more special you could ask them if you could do that.

Yea i know what you mean! When I mailed our saved the dates I put them in the mailbox and I was like, really, that's it?! I was kinda sad lol

I just brought ours inside and the guy hand stamped them for me :) I felt better giving them to someone else than putting in box

I know the feeling! I was SO relieved just to get them to the post office after stuffing and addressing them for about a week, but it really was terribly anti-climactic!

i always was told by friends to wait on line at the post office and one of the workers at the desk will put them in for you- apparently they will stamp it and they won't go through any sorting machines that way and get messed up

um i cried when i dropped my save the dates in the mail. it was scary letting someone else handle something so big (control freak much??) i can only imagine what i'll do when i let go of my invites!!
