Is it necessary to address the inside envelope too with the guests name only? Does it look too informal if I don't?

I did our inside envelopes as well because I like how it looks AND it really shows who is invited to your wedding.
Ditto - since we are sending invites to families with kids. I want them to KNOW that the kids are NOT invited so I put the adults names on the inner envelope.
ETA Our RSVP also notes how many seats are reserved for the people listed on on the envelope
