INVITATIONS - How much and who?

Hi everyone~

How much is everyone spending on invitations? I'm doing custom work with one of the recommended vendors on this site for roughly $900 for 150. Several different papers are being used, ribbon - etc. Am I in the ballpark?

Thanks!

Re: INVITATIONS - How much and who?

I think it really depends on what kind of invites you are looking at. There are different papers, materials etc. Does that include everything? I am getting 175 and including everything I am looking more at $470. Feel free to forum mail me if you have any questions.

Re: INVITATIONS - How much and who?

The ones I want are going to cost us $250 and we are getting everything. 175 invites, envelopes, special colors, response cards, etc...We're not going overboard with invites. They are simple. A bride and groom on a motorcycle.

Edited to add: We are in the same boat, saving wherever we can. We are ordering ours online.

Re: INVITATIONS - How much and who?

I actually spent more money then I had planned on the invites- but I was looking for something non-traditional. I think it came to about $1200 for 125. Funny, I went with the most traditional of companies, Crane's, but picked something sort of different. We are also having the inner envelopes customed lined. We ordered them from Lion in the Sun in Huntington. They have the HUGEST selection in all price ranges and the women there are just amazing. They also do custom work and calligraphy for the envelopes at a reasonable price- hand done and laser. I thought about ordering them online, but I just wanted to be able to feel the paper and see the colors. These are the invites, but the beige print in the picture will be in a deep red, with the enveloped lined in a deep red tissue like paper.

Re: INVITATIONS - How much and who?

I spent about $1000 on my invites, inc. postage. My invites were hand calligraphy custom designed (the master was designed and then printed) and the envelopes were also hand calligraphy. It really depends on what you want. I did double-sided printed direction cards instead of using photocopies.
No matter what you decide make sure you order a sample- sometimes the paper quality is not very good. You want to make sure that the invite is a reflection of your event. A casual afternoon wedding invitation should be different than a formal, Saturday evening black tie event.

Re: INVITATIONS - How much and who?

I am ordering mine online.

I have not done the math yet, but for 100 (ordering 25 extra just in case) invites, and response cards I am looking at $350.
I do not need reception cards.

The paper quality is excellent.

I do not want to break the bank with invites either, but I did not want flimsy crappy paper.

The invitation is the first impression of your wedding
and I want to make a good one.

We spent $300 for 175 invites. I think we got the invite, response, reception card and the appropriate envelopes. We ended up using a family friend and she gave us a great deal!

I'm spending about $700 but they are custom made just like Lizlen2003. We used LA Productions. The paper is great and the attention to detail is superb. I am getting 100 sets.
