We have an overwhelming guest list. My mom did not invite anyone from her job, because it would have been way too many people. She would like for her co-workers to feel welcome to come to the church for the ceremony. Is there a way to this in a professional manner? HELP

Re: Invite Question
I was wondering the same thing! I discussed it with my Mom and she thought it would be okay to send some people who are friends of the fam but we can't have at the reception (we're trying to limit it to about 75 people and both sides of the family are pretty big!) so she thinks it is okay to send the people we can't invite to the reception a church only invite with a little letter saying that we'd love to have them at the church. I am still looking for a good solution to this though! Let me know what you decide on!

Re: Invite Question
I dont know, I dont love the idea of inviting someone to the church only w/ a formal invitation. I would just say, and am saying, where and when the church is, if people ask. I tell them that we would love it if they could go. I would feel really bad if i got a 'church only' invite, sorry JMO

Re: Invite Question
This happens at my mom's work all the time (a school). They usually just post an invite on the bulletin board for anyone interested in attending the church. Of course this wouldn't work if you had the reception info on your invite, but our invites don't have reception info on them, so she will post our invite for anyone intersted.

Re: Invite Question
I had a co worker post her invite on the bulletin board at work. In the break room. (without the reception card, of course) this way any of us who wanted to attend the church would know what time and where.
Nobody felt bad for not being invited to the reception...most people understand how much it costs to have a wedding and co-workers are not usually on the 'A' list to begin with. Most people don't expect to be invited-and might not want to even give the large monetary gift that's become standard to attend a wedding.
I don't think you have to individually give them an invite to the church, just post it at your mom's job where all can see. Or, have your mom send a quick e-mail a few weeks before the ceremony! hope that helps
