This is one area where we aren't really splurging too much. Yes, we could find a little cheaper but the ones we found are under the budget we had set for invites so we are happy. I am also not officially placing an order for them until I get a great discount code to use to make them even less expensive.
where are you ordering them from?
InvitationsbyDawn.com. We're getting:
125 Invitations with lined inner enevlopes 125 Outer Envelopes with printed return address 125 Reception Card Inserts 125 RSVP cards with printed return address on envelopes
The actual total comes out to $337.20 but like I said, they are always offering discount codes. Best one I have seen has been for 25% off which would bring it down to $252.90. Also, I am most likely going to be the extra $15 to get a proof of each sent to me before officially ordering so that will be an extra $45.
They also have free Ground shipping.
EDIT: also I would suggest ordering samples of the invites. I order a bunch from here - most of them were really nice quality, some were nicer in picture but not what I thought they would be in person.

Re: invite stress
I'm getting mine from Wedding Paper Divas. It will be around $415 for 110 invites, rsvp cards, and reception cards. They also send you coupons when you order samples. I'm looking to cash in on three $20 off coupons by staggering my order

Re: invite stress
I'm trying to go as cheap as possible with invites! I feel like it's a place you can really pay much less and no one will notice. That being said, I still want a modern looking invite, not the typical pearly paper with a small design on top that I've seen and like my mom had. I like Wedding Paper Divas, but I think I want to spend even less! Vistaprint and 123print have a lot of stuff, but nothing I love yet. I haven't seen a DIY kit I like either. I'm hoping vistaprint comes out with a design I like soon, this way I can get everything from them and have it all match! And about the DIY route, I routinely have fights with my printer so I wouldn't do them here at home, I'd have to go somewhere and have them printed and I'm not sure how that factors into convenience and price.

Personally I decided to DIY and save $ on the invites. Pics are in my album. If you love them I'd say go for it, but if you dont maybe you should keep looking and try to save some money?
Wow, yours are amazing. I can't believe you did those yourself!
Awww, thanks!!! Theyre kinda a PIA and are taking forever, but I love them and they will cost under $100

Personally, I would go less expensive, especially if you aren't crazy over them!!!!

Re: invite stress
crashing.... I'm in the printing process, using her and I've had nothing but a good experience. That being said, if yuo dont LOVE those invitations, don't spend the $....especially because you'll get to the point I'm at and take them to the post office and they're going to cost you $1.00-$1.50 to mail since they're heavy and square.
I had her re-do mine so many times until I absolutely loved them. I drove her nuts, she is a saint. I couldn't justify spending that much $ until I was in love with them. Now I'm sending out my invites, paying $1.56 a piece in stamps and while I'm not crazy about spending so much money in postage, I love my invites so I'm doing it.
Long story short, make sure you love them because at the end of the day, like the girls said, they are paper and they will get thrown out eventually.
PS: I think your invites are really nice. I saw them on her website a few days ago.

Crashing here - I started working with her and I felt like I wasn't getting a lot for the money I was going to spend. Her invitations are very nice, but still...not that nice!!
I went to a local store in Merrick and got 125 pocketfolds for about $500. It is J&D Invitations on Merrick Ave, they are a vendor here. The owner Jan walked me through the entire process and worked with my budget so I could get what I wanted. I highly recommend her!!!

Just a word of advice - order 25 more outer envelopes than you need. I used them when invitations were returned to me, someone didn't get one etc

I have been going back & forth with the same issue, with 'her' in the end, I just can't justify spending $800.00 on a piece of paper.
