FH and I are paying for the wedding, and we wanted to word the invite as:
'G, daughter of _____, and D, son of ______,' invite you to the wedding blah blah blah.
Has anyone else done this? Our invitations person has done this before but I wanted to check around.

Re: invite wording - will parents be offended?
my friend did this on her invitation. they paid for the wedding themselves and originally weren't putting parents names at all, but her parents made a stink, so they worded it just like you...parents names under daughter and then son.

Re: invite wording - will parents be offended?
This can be touchy. My sister paid for 90% of her wedding and still worded the invite to come from both sets of parents only.
We are paying for our wedding but will go with the following:
Together with their parents, Mr. & Mrs. ___________ and Mr. & Mrs. ___________,
Kristina and Michael
invite you . . .
I don't mind them getting some credit. If I really needed the help, there is no doubt in my mind that my parents would help me. I think this will make them feel better as they are also inviting family and their friends.
My advice is to go with whatever you and FH feel best about.

Re: invite wording - will parents be offended?
we payed for most of the wedding ourselves, but still included both sets of parents on the invite because we wanted to and it just seemed like the right thing to do, for us...i didn't look at it as a 'who's paying?' issue at all
we did something like this:
Mr and Mrs _____ request the honor of your presence at the marriage of their daughter, Colleen Marie
to Stephen _____ Son of _________

I just did this and designed my own invites.
We (actually me) are paying for the bulk, but getting a lot of pleasant gifts :D

Re: invite wording - will parents be offended?
It is my understanding that if you are paying this is how the wording usually goes I have seen it before.
