Invited to the Bridal Shower, But NOT the wedding???
My FSIL, was telling me that she was not invited to her best friends brothers wedding. I guess they were trying to cut corners and not invite to many people, but then she goes on and tells me that she was invited to the shower.
I found this really odd.
is this normal practice?

no this is not normal. Normally who ever is invited to the shower is invited to the wedding. Maybe something happened in b/w that you don't know about that led to the decision of the bride and groom to not invite your FSIL

yeah you're really not supposed to do that especially after you invited someone to a shower that gave you a gift and then you don't invite them to the wedding...did something happen in between that time?

No nothing happened between them, They just did not want a big guest list, so The Grooms sister did not invite her 2 friends, One of whom is my FSIL.
But then she told me she went to the shower, i was just totally shocked, cause i think that is the rudest thing ever. When i told FSIL this, she had no idea that it was the wrong thing that they did. she is single, and hasnt been to many weddings etc. so she has no idea how things work.
So i explained to her and she was just dumbfounded

Oooo yeah some ppl are A**holes and if they didnt like the gift then they'll act like this...but im guessing it was off the registry so they can't complain about a gift they received.
But i see ppl and yes even on here i have seen it a couple of times who say they can't invite everyone to the wedding so they want to invite them at least to the e-party or something

Definitely not normal and very rude IMO. It sounds like they were looking for a gift. Did she comment to her friend that she didn't expect to be invited to anything, but it's kind of rude of them to do that?

Sounds like they wanted to get all the gifts they could even if it meant not inviting some people to the wedding. Thats just wrong...people really are horrible sometimes...
